Some of this stuff is just sadistic. Bioware has a funny way of rewarding players for getting emotionally invested in their stories.

Ever read a book where it's obvious that the writer hates a certain character, and any subtlety or development is thrown out in favor of making them into a cartoon villain they can use as a punching bag?

I'm so glad to find out early that I chose the wrong characters to like, and this series isn't for me anymore.

Oh man, I don't like the sound of that at all.

This cryptic stuff is killing me. It's taking all of my self-control not to read them :(

Really i feel sympathy for BW too. I will buy this game anyway even if the plot is almost known just because i want to support them and to show appreciation for their work. Hope others will do the same.

I am kind of glad for this leak since it showed what I need to know...whether choices have any actual impact...it saved me 60 bucks

Yeah all the stuff is sooo bad. especially all the end stuff.. And I correct myself. This was not written by a 15 year odl. This could be written by a 10 year old. sooooooooooooooooooooooo bad^^

maybe

If you liked the story and all that happens in ME1 and 2. You are much better off not playing and knowing it at all. Yes it is that bad.

How do you know that your actions don't change where they end up? Oh right, you don't but a 6 month old draft of one apparent path through the game is clearly enough to condemn an entire product for.

After playing the first 2 games and enjoying the stories in those, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that the final version of ME3 will be just as good if not better than the first 2. Seeing as he said the leaked stuff is based on a very old build I doubt it takes into consideration most of the choices if any real significant ones.

They had to change the whole main plot becasue this leaks has all the endings and outcomes. And each one of them sounds really stupid.

So honestly if you really enjoyed the story ME1 and 2 dont buy this game until they change the complete story. Becasue you would regret it otherwise.

@KingDan97

People like that who make baseless assumptions don't deserve ME3 to be honest. The constant hate for the CANON DRAFT story is getting on my nerves.

I really just hope that in the final version of the game, BioWare doesn't pull a J.K Rowling, if you know what I mean.

And if so, allow us to have a choice, that will one way or another, change certain outcomes regarding major characters, whether it fell upon choosing to kick Conrad Verner's quad or shoot his foot in ME2.

Sorry, father was a Korgan.

People said the EXACT same thing about the Gears of War 3 leak.

Its old, things will change, early draft, bla bla bla.

Guess what? It didn't change at all.

90% of posts from those who read it said it clearly stopped before the end of the game, based on that fact alone, I don't buy that you've actually read them.

I'm not going to base my decision on getting the game on an old story build. They have had time and still have time to change things. It is a draft, they even said that it is old and stuff has changed.... Either way they are some of the most enjoyable games I have played so I'll get it even if the story doesn't live up to my expectations.

ITs a draft of 24000 words.

Again they had to rewrite the entire thing becasue of the ending.

Gears of War 3 didn't take into account over 1000 variables from two prior games, and if I recall the Gears 3 "leak" was an actual BUILD of the game, like the actual game. People played through what happened and it occured what? 3 months before launch, maybe. this is a document that is 6 months old NOW, 5 months from now the game comes out, half the development cycle is a much longer span of time in which things can change.

It doesnt stop before the ending. If you have the actual full one. And I know it because  you will see what will happen with shepard, the earth and everyone else. There are multiple endings and conclusions also in it. Its definetly the ending.

I don't think cancelling my preorder is condemning a product.  It's being more careful than I was in the past, because I can't take it on faith that I will enjoy Bioware's games anymore.

I despised Virmire and disliked Horizon.  If the spoilers are true, this really, really isn't the game for me.  If they aren't true, I can always buy it after player reviews are out.

Not condemning it to failure, personal condemnation, it's lower in your eyes because of old design documents in a game that is entirely variable.

Just a bit curious, when did GoW3 get leaked?

Is that pastebin url all the information that was leaked? People were talking like it had all the dialogue in the game but it only hinted at the complete inner mysteries, i.e. the history of the Reapers and Protheans. Maybe I missed it its a pretty large text but I scanned it and did a search for Reaper and only found stuff that I already assumed would be in there.

If it has like 24000 words than its the real one. But there is quite a bit about te reaper eseically at the end of the document.

The full disc file was leaked onto torrent sites, in a playable state, meaning that story details were beyond any shadow of a doubt more concrete than they are now.

I play Bioware games for the story.  If the story appears to be something I'm really going to dislike (to the point that there is a scenario that I will not play out, thus I will not be able to finish the game), why should I preorder it, much less the Collector's Edition?

Again, it's entirely possible that the game will be great and I'll laugh and cry and be just as satisfied with it as I was when I finished ME1 for the first time.  But based on this info, I'm going to wait and see, instead of preordering on blind faith.

Its entire campaign was leaked somehow via the Bulletstorm disc, which came out ~8months before Gears. The actual campaign itself became fully playable in, I believe, early August due to a leaked developer's disc. People knew the entire story explicitly nearly two months before release, and knew probable spoilers over half a year before release.

Microsoft/Epic assured people that that wasn't the final story and it "didn't represent the final product", but they were in fact the same thing. Nothing changed. Everything I had spoiled for me (against my will) came true.

Yeah there is no way they will change the main plot at all. Yes they will change some stuff in between or cut and add some stuff but basicly this will be the whole plot. And again its bad. Its very bad.
