Well that's more just a mismatched line, I'm assuming the demo isn't trying to run off any save file and that someone just slipped in a can'treachnormany1.mp3 instead of 2. The script actually outright contradicts itself, having you save people then get told to kill them by the same people who ordered you to save them among other things.Ragabul the Ontarah wrote...

This "script" spans the course of multiple revisions of itself, aside from the fact that several large sections are all marked with temp and test.
There's actually evidence of this kind of thing even in the video itself. For instance, Anderson mentions "Major Alenko" being aboard the Normandy just moments after you saw Ashley. There is no way this leaked stuff is universally representative of what to expect in ME3.

I was going to mention that. Just goes to so you all the placeholders that were in that current beta demo. I am pretty much standing by that the leak script being that it is pretty much garbage to me since I know that ALL my Shepards stories will be different to some degree or another and some vastly just through the romances and the ones who I had survive/helped.Ragabul the Ontarah wrote...

Yep, I'm on your side, aside from the logic issues it just outright doesn't cover the range of possibilities that would come from import, and it directly contradicts things that it states happens, I don't know how many times one non-Shepard can die in this universe but I'd counted at least 3 seperate times that one character died.Genshie wrote...
Sorry I had to reread that but it seems like you and me are on the same boat here right? I mean the script doesn't even cover if you did this or that, had this person die, didn't have this person's loyalty and all that mentioned. An example being I doubt you would be running into Samara in ME3 if you chose her in ME2 and you are Renegade.KingDan97 wrote...
Then there's the fact that it contradicts itself. I didn't make it even half way through but I saw mandatory character deaths reappearing later and people who you'd gotten on your side suddenly being against you.Genshie wrote...
You know that the script leaked has holes in it since it and seems to be from a default selection of choices. The script also doesn't include results that could be transfered from ME2 if said character died during SM. And who is to say that he person who leaked this didn't add or take out anything?
This "script" spans the course of multiple revisions of itself, aside from the fact that several large sections are all marked with temp and test.

I imagine most of the side-plots and stuff are still completely up for change, but most of the material in the main plot will stay the same.
Yes and most of THAT material is what actually sucks.
Seriously the main plot, as it looks now in the leaked script, is just plain bad.

Well, yea, but what I meant was just that a textual or graphical skeleton that's supposed to represent enumerable scenarios and is still under rivision is hardly representative of a finished product.

this whole thing smells why would the beta of a demo have all that info
My hypothesis -- and I don't pretend to be remotely knowledgeable of these sorts of things -- is that testers were given the rough draft back when that beta was current in order to chime in their opinions and such.

- They were using 2 default imports. The first was a goody paragon and with everyone alive, the second was renegade with nearly everyone death.
- Some major plot aspects of ME3 were described, mostly missions. There were little to no reference to consequences from previous games, it was mainly the script of ME3 alone.
- The script also included the possible endings, so avoid it if you don´t want to be spoiled. I personally didn´t like it much because of the whole deux ex machina idea.
- Another thing which was present is, in a brief way, how certain ME2 squadmates would appear again. From the look of it, most of them are not in the squad or are only during a mission, but this is myself guessing.
Overall i thought some plot points were quite good, while others were weak or simply unfinished, including some player choices that were retconed DA2 style "you chose this but then this happened and your choice is meaningless", so i am not sure how to judge it yet. The script was definitely quite linear, except for a few minor exceptions that showed more than one outcome for a mission. If you can handle spoilers i recommend reading it, as it will give you a general idea of how the plot of ME3 is likely to unfold.

I still blame Microsoft, they're the ones that leaked the beta accidentally.

It's something called a tlk file, it held internal design considerations in what was likely an encoded form inside the core files of ME3, the people who downloaded the demo transferred it over to their PC and datamined it for the tlk files. Mass Effect 2 had them, DA2 has them and most games have something in this vein so that when production passes out of the storytellers hands into those of the artists they don't have to constantly check in with the storytellers.maxpowers2525 wrote...

This particular file is likely older than the E3 demo since most news outlets are confirming that the demo is the same one they were shown behind closed doors at PAX and Gamescom, which means that they've been building up off the E3 demo till this point. This isn't likely to be the demo we'll get in January as I'm guessing that they'll take the files they need for that from the launch build rather then continue developing a demo build in parallel.

I'm going to give Jesse the benefit of the doubt and believe what he says about it not being a final draft. But don't tell us to not read the spoilers if they're just outdated. It just only makes me think that there is some truth to that.

No matter, there's a group for that here at BSN. Go to groups tab, it's one of the most recently created - the group's name is obvious enough(for those that don't mind the spoilers).

It's spread to IGN. I can't believe I've caused a bloody IGN article.
Consequences...problematic.
