After this, I wouldn't be surprised to not hear a thing from BW about ME3 until two weeks before launch. I did not read the spoilers (seems I am one of the few with enough willpower to not click the goddam' link), but from the posts I've been reading the spoilers are major.

They are major so don't click the link.  I find myself impervious to spoilers (mostly).  They actually get me more interested in a game not less.

I will not, my fellow forumite, but thanks for the heads-up anyway!

Well.......see you guys March 6th!

*punches a wall and cries*

I feel your pain.:crying:

I know. Punching walls hurt like hell.

I have a friend who used to go around punching walls when he was angry. Once he punched a marble windowsill. Had to hurt.

I would have stopped after that. You are bound to punch something so hard you will break your hand lol.

Hey Everyone!

We are still investigating, but it appears that some internal story files have been leaked. Even though the information in those files is out of date and does not reflect the final story experience, we urge fans not to read them if they want to experience the purest form of the story in Mass Effect 3.

-Jess

I really hope you rewirte this because that was I was reading sounded very very bad.  Honestly w here did all your tallent writers go?

Hooray for assumptions on material without context!

What without context? Just read it for yourself. You dont need to go indeep for the main concept and the overall story....

I read some of it and it's not bad at all (can't read too much).  What you're reading is basically a script.  In movies a script can be really good or average, but the execution can make or break a movie.

Again you have no context of the flow of events, characters, how the dialogue options are truly layed out etc.

CARL_DF90 wrote...

These so called "spoilers" are what I would call "half-truths", "oversimplifications", and just outright falsehoods. I read them and still took them with a grain of salt. Will continue to do so until the ACTUAL game comes out. Night night!

Very true.  A lot of the point form info seemed to be more trolling to get people worked up (lots of LOL etc.), even though alot of it makes sense if you think about it.  However actually breezing over some of the alleged story material itself seems pretty cool imo.

Yeah in mayn games that is the case. But just according to the video footage of the beta leak the voice acting is absolut terrible.  Yeah maybe thats a bit hyperbole but after playing a game like Uncharted 3 this sounds really really bad in terms of acting.

And hoenstly: Bioware should delay the game till fall or so and rewrite alot of stuff. Even if they dont think its bad but to surprise people at least.

On noes the beta footage that had tons of placeholder stuff including Meer voice-acting Mordin as a placeholder and a bunch of other placeholder dialogue was bad...

Of course its a beta. And I was not talking about the glitches missing textues etc. I was talking about the voice over was terrible in my opinion. And voice acting is very very important in a game for me.

This has happened again? I remember when there were a few weeks left till ME2 came out. And a couple of pricks decided to post a major ME2 spoiler in the forums (In the title of their threads as well >_>) from their pirated ME2 copies. Too bad that it seems to have happened again.

This is not BioWare's fault. It was Microsoft that leaked the beta in their Fall Xbox Dashboard Preview and it seems that the Russian website extracted all this stuff from beta files.

Whilst I agree this is mostly Microsofts fault, you can't help but "shake your head" at the wisdom of including this information in an internal beta and then handing it over to Microsoft a company that is about as secure and safe as their internet browser.  It has been shown time and time again that Microsoft leak stuff, hell they leaked all the pre-order DLC for Mass Effect 2.

To put it another way, I wouldn't trust Microsoft with my damn credit card number, so I find it odd that Bioware would trust Microsoft to safe guard a beta with a huge amount of plot information in there.

Too bad it's a few months this time instead of weeks.

This always happens near release. So no blame there. But  months and moth before the release is a huge issue.

Yeah he could...shift moods fast. He's four years older than me, and one time in school there were three or four of us there talking and for some reason he punched me in the arm.

I glanced over some of it, but even with the knowledge I have now I'll still enjoy the game. I don't have anything against spoilers.

This was in old tlk data, this is something that is often never updated or revised during development, this would've been in the January beta most likely, things like this were in the DA2 demo and were likely only not found within the ME2 demo for PS3 because Sony has all the files on the hard drive locked up like fort knox.

I watched the beta footage but I will not see those links- this is too much and I feel bad for Hudson and crew for this disaster. I won't be spoiling it for myself however and I will still buy the game no matter what.

I'm curious, who is saying it was hacked from the beta files?

Because the leaked cache of stuff includes things like lists of sidequests with developer commentary about them

Surely a design document wouldn't be something they'd include in a beta?

The voice acting was half made and filled with place holder stuff, so maybe that's why it sounded so bad, but I wouldn't be too worried yet. After all it's a beta, but if the voice acting in the demo of the final version is bad... Well, you'll have all reason in the world to be worried, VERY worried.

You think they're the only one to do it? I bet most if not all devs test private MP betas on both Xbox Live & PSN.

The russian forum where it leaked talks about TLK file and says its from beta. Not to mention, you think it would be a coincidence story leaks just 2 days after beta leaks?

That is why you must be 65% chill. It makes sure you do not punch random things when pissed. Although I usually act like a douche bage when I'm pissed. Vocal expression of anger is more harmful to others than you :)

You know, I read the spoilers. The result is not freakoutery or approval or even hope; I just don't care. I'll buy the game in March, I'll play it, and I'll probably enjoy it quite a bit.

And then I'll be done. Life will go on.

@Isaac: Okay, thanks.

Can't even imagine how upset Bioware would be about this.
