Dude, it's a joke.

Also, (s)he's right--we really have no idea how things will turn out.

Though a story that pisses you off will probably make me very happy.  We seem to have completely opposite tastes, plus, you know, I do get my kicks from a little schadenfreude every once in a while.

But only with you, babe.

Seriously, best internet rivalry ever, amirite?

Only with him eh?

Nah, you aren't all that high up on my villain roster. Xilizhra and Dean_the_Young top that.

Eh, I'm sexier than both combined.

We should have, like, a Batsign for him.  Only it's the Blue Suns logo.  We can just beam that sh*t into the clouds whenever we need a well-thought-out analysis.

I've been waiting forever to have Ashley back on my team and now I'm stuck with this decrepit plebeian Vega who looks like he shot himself up with a double dose of testosterone to the second power squared times a million.

This, except swap out Ashley for Kaidan.  And don't forget Liara, there seemed to be a lot of her in it as well.  It looks like her fans will be happy at least.   Sadly for me she was one of my least favorite squad mates.

I don't like Vega either ( I mean c'mon), but you don't have to keep him, children. Bulldogs belong in the pound.

Some of it is just gratuitous. Why should controlling the geth involve torturing an autistic man? Why should Cerberus seek to repeat (BUT TO THE EXTREEEEEEEME) what the Alliance did with biotics? Why is there no explanation for Akuze or the other experiments?

I expect because of the case Dr. Archer made - if it's one man vs. millions in war, the lesser evil seems clear (that is if we ignore that he was trying to enslave an entire race, of course).  The DLC was trying to turn that kind of thinking on its head, and it's pretty clear it succeeded in doing that for most  As for the biotic experiments, the same reasoning people have run brutal experiments on human subjects in real life: they think it gets results faster and they have no conscience.  And as you said, we never found out why they were so interested in thresher maws (which was a big screwup given the sole survivor backstory, nevermind cerberus).

Isn't the entire point of Cerberus "the ends justify the means"?  How can you possibly have an organization that operates like that not do anything nasty?

Mostly my impressions, no spoilers really, but graying it out all the same.

Suppose you're cold, so you want to warm your house. You figure out you need to start a warming fire. To this end, you decide to send your agents to burn down a village and using the corpses of hundreds of villagers create a great funeral pyre, after thoroughly torturing them first. But once the fire is up and burning, it doesn't warm you, because your house and the village are on the different continents.

So you send your agents to burn down a city, torture and slaughter millions of civilians, and devastate the nearby regions. However the smoldering ashes of the city and the nearby lands don't warm you either, because your house and the city are on the different planets.

So you decide to commit a lot of Atrocities, in hopes that it would finally get you what you want. But except for making a lot of people dead in the most gruesome, terrible way possible, that doesn't move you closer to your goal. Still no fire. But you successfully blew up the planets who were the only source of firewood for your own house.

So you send your people to nuke the planet...the planet on which you're located...in hope that that would finally make you warm.

Meanwhile, you're using your agent to shoot down your housemate who's trying to start the fire in your fireplace using two matches and a single remaining log.

That's about how much sense Cerberus' actions make in ME3. End justifies the means? Come on. Where's logic?

And forget about terrorism, that doesn't matter anymore, Cerberus is now the force of entropy, pure evil incarnate, the enemy of all life in the universe. Believe you me, once you face what Cerberus is doing, "terrorism" would be the last thing on your mind, that's too mild and irrelevant to describe their actions.

I finished reading the most uninspired motivation for the reapers coupled with the most blandest set of endings imaginable.
I will not spoil the game for you all, as I will let the disappointment strike everyone in March.

Bioware, I'd like a writing position, because I'm sure I can outclass the clowns hired to throw together this "piece of art".

Highlight for Spoilers
VS falling for Kai Leng telling them Shep killed their partner is gonna be ridiculous. I'm so saving Liara over their ass. I just hope I'm not forcedto take them with me constantly.

I finally read the spoilers, and I can honestly say that this is such a rough draft, it's barely worth making a fuss about. Really dry, barebones stuff. It has its fair share of spoilers, so if you really don't want them, don't read. But in the end its just an outline. An outline that is subject to a wide variety of changes and alterations by this point.

And in the end, people who read it are going to see what they want to see. Chances are, this document will only enflame any feelings you have on ME3. If you''ve got a lot of excitement, it's going to make you more excited. if you're nervous and aprehensive, it will probably make you moreso.

So it comes as no surprise to me that I'm even more anxious for this game to get here than before. March cannot arrive fast enough.

I'm sick and tired of this hate being spread because people read an early outline of a story without music, cinematic, or even the whole plot..if I were to read to you the entire ME2 plot without context, without the interaction between characters it would sound silly. but with all of the elements together it is a beautifully crafted game. The experience is what is going to really matter. You guys hate bioware stuff so damn quickly it makes me wonder why you ever signed up for these forums. Stop spreading hate, stop telling lies, and stop blatantly bashing a game that hasn't even been released yet.

He-Man dies at the end of ME3.....Oh sorry, Is that a spoiler? LOL! Under Tali's mask; Smuffet! Blue story! ...

Who's really going to read it? I'll admit I've seen it floating around, but I'd rather have a visual with it... and the game.

"BioWare develops high quality console, PC and online role-playing games, focused on rich stories, unforgettable characters and vast worlds to discover."

*In actuality*

"Bioware develops whatever EA tells it to, whether it be PC, or online multiplayer games, focused on gaining more sales, revenue, forgettable characters and linear worlds to not quite discover."

I accidentally looked at one minor spoiler (one that probably depends on variables too) but managed to restrain myself from looking at any others, I think I might stay off the Bioware forums now...just to be safe.

Still though I'm a little disappointed (just a little) that so many companies including Bioware are getting their games and plots leaked (not so much the latter as the former but still.)

I know Bioware probably doesn't think its that big of a deal since its kind of hard to avoid sometimes and its only a minority of people on the internet that see the spoilers, but I reckon they should have tried harder considering ME 3 is the final in the trilogy...but oh well.

Honestly, I'm not surprised at all. No matter how much Bioware, EA or even Microsoft attempt to stall people from leaking plot info, it's going to happen.

You see my friend, the world is full of deplorable Human beings we can do nothing about.

SPOILER

Can anyone confirm that Legion, Thane, and Mordin all bite the dust no matter what? And that Shepard needs to make a choice between Liara and the VS?

END SPOILERS

No one can confirm Thane because we have conflicting reports about his activities in ME3.

Spoiler:

Legion would be a choice it appears, between allowing the Quarians to kill the geth or allowing the Geth to achieve true AI status.  Mordin does appear to die in the datamine.  VS or Liara also appears to happen, but there are other versions of the same scene where that does not happen, so this is also up in the air.

End spoiler.

Spoiler:

There is no conflict found in the file for Thane's role....his role is concrete. Note that the file had sequences out of order. I think Kasumi may very well be a permanant squadmate. to add. Hopefully.

As for A/K and Liara, it seems like the variants occur due to two points in that quest. If Shepard convinces A/K that Kai Leng is the enemy, than Shep will have to choose between A/K and Liara.

If A/K turns on Shep, there is no choice on who to save, Liara automatically survives.

Its seems to me that some parts of the file repeat itself but then go into more detail or less detail. These files are  a mess.

Nice to see from the files that the fate of one character (the characters survival or death in ME2) can determine the fate of another rmajor Mass Effect character....

I was looking forward to ME3, after the turd that was ME2 (Story), I believed ME3 would actually be a GAME, not a place holder between the first and 3rd installments.  I believe I will wait several months after its release to buy
ME3.  I need to see good reviews before I shell out my hard earned $$$.  I read the leaked info, and say I am disappointed by the story;  Do not forget, the first thing to get 'built' in a game is the STORY.  And the leaked info tells the story.

ME3 has been worked on for what... 2 years?  I guarantee the story is finished, and what the leak shows is the
S T O R Y; or as close to the final story, that the differences if any are minor.

So again:  until I hear from real, and credible reviews (not some fanboy espousing the 'greatest game ever' crap) stating that:

1) YES, previous decisions change the game DRAMATICALLY (does saving the rachni queen (ME1) change the story of ME3; etc.)

2)  Gameplay is improved over ME2

3)  I am not required to buy DLC (RIPOFF!! I spend $$$ to buy a GAME, not 1/2 a GAME!!) to enjoy the complete game.

I will keep my $$$ safe and sound... in my wallet!

Yeah, the contradiction isn't internal, but some (apparently confirmed?) information from a magazine said that Thane's role in ME3 was different to what was in that document. Instead of the confrontation with Mr Slimy Politician, he worked with Shepard to resolve a hostage situation relating to hanar scientists working on a cure for Kepral's Syndrome.

The 'new' Thane mission was in Xbox World a month or so ago, which would indicate that things may have changed somewhat since this .tlk file was produced.
