I expected the deus ex machina.

I didn't expect the demonizing of the Virmire Survivor to not only continue, but intensify.

This is want got me the most. So BioWare, you kept the VS out of ME2 so you could do that to them. Not cool. I sincerely hope that BioWare has made changes (not holding my breath).

A few pages back someone posted something saying that you can keep both the VS and Liara alive if you defeat Kai Leng, but if he defeats you you must make the choice.

Not really the point (and fwiw the leaked dialog files aren't completely clear here).  The point is that VS should have more faith in Shepard than this...especially if they were Shep's LI in ME1 and especially after the Alliance confirms everything Shep said about the Collectors and Reapers was the straight skinny.  It's a choice that should never have been made if VS were really a friend and really loyal.

Can people stop putting spoilers in this thread, I've read about some deaths and things but there's no way I'm going to read the entire script, I'm still firm in the belief that there are still things to be added in/revised and things have most likely already been changed/revised since the writing of the docs

Yup I saw it and hope that is indeed the case in game. I just won't be suprised if that scene plays out in the bad way. Plus, the overall treatment of the VS as portrayed in the leak still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Wow, really?  I thought he defeats you no matter what... Which I think would be great if it stays...

People seem to forget that the VS is, and always was, an Alliance soldier. Their reaction to their friend/lover suddenly appearing after being dead for two years, working for a terrorist organization that you both once fought AGAINST....

Nevermind. I forgot that it's majority rule here. Garrus/Tali fans far outnumber VS fans, so that means that Ashley is a racist traitor, and Kaidan is a whining traitor.

The title of the thread is "ME3 Story Leaks".  Just putting it out there.

We (or at least I) are not forgetting that.  Because of that, I can understand part of VS' reaction on Horizen, but calling Shepard a traitor was waay over the top.  Given their shared history, Shepard deserves better than that.  What bakes my cookies is after it's all said and done and SPECTRE VS can see the Normandy files and see that Shepard was never a traitor and had the straight skinny on the Collector/Reaper threat all along, VS STILL betrays (or tries to betray) Shepard...to Cerberus.  That just doesn't fly with me.

I perfectly understood his reaction on Virmire, I wasn't any happier than he was about it, but I understood.

And I would've perfectly understood if he'd betrayed me for someone like say, Anderson. But... Udina? Seriously, that's like, the worst person to listen to, solider or no. D<

Agrees, particularly if the VS is Ashley.  Her opinion regarding Udina and his general character and trustworthiness might be less acidic than concentrated sufuric acid....but not by very much.

That why i'm taking this scene with a grain of salt, I just dont/cant believe that the VS would listen to Udina. Seem's odd.

<_<

EDIT: although I think the scene could work really well, just as long as theres choice etc

Wait, now I'm even more confused, what's going on between the VS and Udina?

Apparently the whole Kai Leng situation was orchestrated by Udina. By what I've read, I don't know the details perhaps someone could help me with that?

lets just hope that it's old script or it's just one of bad possibilities like if you renegade, or you being dick to  VS in ME1 or something or chosen udina in ME1. if not then bad writing is bad and i've lost all hope.

Alright here's the skinny:

*spoilers*

Udina is apparently indoctrinated and convinces AS that Shepard is a traitor that needs to be eliminated, and calls on AS as a Spectre to do just that....and has him/her work with Kai Leng who we both know...but somehow AS does not even as a Spectre....is Cerberus. Essentially AS comes with Kai Leng to kill Shepard almost solely on Udina's say so....not the whole council....just Udina.

Apparently part of that is Udina convincing AS that the other AS death on Virmire was a deliberate act of Murder by Shepard.

*end spoilers*

At least that's how I read it.

Good to know. Does picking up Anderson as councillor makes things different?

The fact that Ashley would listen to Udina proves how malicious and/or ignorant Mac Walters is towards the VS. The Ashley Williams from ME1 would never, EVER a believe a politician over Shepard.

I don't find anything bad with that, except for the fact Udina is indoctrinated, he was never in the presence of a reaper.

No.  *spoiler* Udina is always the Human Councilor in ME3 no matter what choice you made in ME1. *end spoiler*

@Awesomename

Lang still beats Shepard. But the way he beats him differs.

If Lang beats Shepard you get a cutscene where you have to choose from the two squad.

If Lang is held back he fights dirty to win and you don't have to choose between your squad.

So the only way to kill Liara is to get asskicked and have a rebar rod in shepards back.

If I had to guess, I'd say that Cerberus did it.

God, I wish Chris L'Etoile was still at BioWare. No way Ash would be so mishandled if he was.
