Microsoft didn't screw over those other titles as badly as they have done this one. I'm sure it isn't some plan by Microsoft to get back at Bioware it was just a **** up that is annoying as hell when it happens months away from a release.

Of course this was not a sheme it was an accident. None or less the guy who is responsible for this will get fired at least fore sure.

A beta is an early release that is not representative of the final product. Its purpose is to give players a glimpse of what the game will mostly be like, while leaving open the possibility of changing multiple aspects after testing.

A demo is a representation of what the final game will be. It's thoroughly tested and ready, and no bugs/fillers/whatever are left, because it's essentially an advertisement.

What we will be getting in January is a demo. What players got access to is a beta of a demo.

We really cannot judge the final product by a beta of a demo.

I was trying to say that we don't have to worry about the voice acting of the beta, after all it's not finished.
But if the voice acting in the demo is bad, well... we have reason to be afraid.

Oh, no! I wasn't directly correcting you at all. I just used your conversation as a reference lol. I couldn't quote every single post here that seemed to be confusing the concepts of a "beta" and a "demo". I just wanted to say they weren't the same thing.

Actually, this is a really good point (about the fresh play vs import).  The game expects a valid character in order to play.  Whether it is a demo, a beta, or whatever, the game engine expects that certain data structures regarding the character are present and that the variables are set.  It is quite probable that the beta has a valid save game embedded in it and it is quite probable that any set variables relate to that.

As for the plot stuff, well I won't even look at it but I'll be honest, even LotR sounds effin dumb when boiled down to a rough outline.

I read a couple of spoilers, mostly some paraphrased on the BSN forums. Only one thing gave me a "seriously?  WTF" feeling. What I am hearing about a lot of auto-dialogue, linear story and can't choose squad mates, well  let's just say, I hope that is the outdated stuff that will get changed. For me, one of the primary reasons why the Mass Effect series is a wonderful and great game series is because it gives the player Choice: Choice in how I have my main character interact with the game's universe and characters, Choice in how the story develops based on my decisions and actions, Choices in who I chose to bring along on my squad and fight by my side. Without those things, then Mass Effect would no longer be, well... Mass Effect.

I am definitely NOT interested in story spoilers. ME3 is my most anticipated game of all time. Perhaps it's not a coincidence that every single thing I've heard about it in the past few months has made me more and mroe concerned about the finished product. At this point, seeing the end of the story is the only part of the experience I'm not afraid won't live up to expectations. I don't want to risk hearing bad news about that, too.

I think it's been established that the lack of a "party member" screen is because of the beta and not because of the final game. A lot of people were misinformed by hearing about these leaks second hand from a biased source.

People who have actually looked at the real document have said that there's plenty of open room for a selectable squad. Plus, Casey said in response to the "rotating party member theory" that it was false.

Hey! I have both systems, and also for me Uncharted is kinda overrated. But we can't deny the fact that some people buys a Ps3 for this trilogy (In my case, I bought it for GOW III )

Likewise. Uncharted's a good game. But, IMO, not nearly as "OMFG INCREDIBLE" as it's considered. It's just pretty.

The combat is blah and repetitive, it does nothing revolutionary or particularly outstanding, the platforming isn't always intuitive or easy to control, and all in all, half the campaign is nothing but cutscenes. Still enjoyable, but not something I'd put up for GOTY at all.

The reason I bought a PS3 was Heavy Rain. The Uncharted series came way later. *nod*
