As most of you know, Microsoft "accidently" leaked an early build of the ME3 demo. This beta data has since been mined and spoilers from ME3 have been posted on a Russian Bioware community site. Could this be retaliation from Microsoft? After all, EA did have Bioware release ME2 on the PS3, the game having previously exclusive to the 360 and PC. Now EA is attempting to push its profit margin using Origin. Could Microsoft be waging a secret campaign to ruin Bioware and EA in the process?

They could just buy them if they hated them that much.

Or not allow them to release games on Windows. Or the 360.

That would be cunning but not diabolical, a typical Microsoft plot requires both.

I get the feeling that some Microsoft employee sold the information on the beta.

Where there is enough money, there is a way.

And you have got to be kidding me if you think MS doesn't retain final control of their own premier product. They may not need permission to develop for it, but I can guarantee that there are way to ensure that it's frustrating for legitimate end users (people who generally pay to keep the companies doing the development afloat) from using non-approved software.

It is MS. They can figure something out. Ineptly.

If this was deliberate by Microsoft then we should thank them for the warning.

**** happens. **** also happened to other publishers/developers in the past.

Just sad (especially for BioWare) that people actually have to dig for and release informations on the whole story.

Microsoft is trying to become a monopoly again. They constantly keep forgetting about antitrust law.

My gripe is that now I have to be even more careful visitng game sites for the next while since I don't want the story spoiled.  Gametrailers was good at spoiling scenes in the ME2 review and that wrecked the shock value when I played the game (Still enjoyed the game).

I don't think that adds up really...Given that was a choice by EA the Publisher. If it were Microsoft getting mad, I think it would if that was the case be doing this with ALL EA releases. Also spoilers from a demo, oh no, not like we hadn't already figured that out or seen most of it on this site and trailers. @_@

As to it being on the PS3, so what? The 360 gets, gots, and has more sales with the franchise. Hell that would be like Sony Leaking the Demo of MGS or GTA4 As they went to the 360 from the PS3.

And once more doing any of this is hurting who? Its ****ing free press.

Retaliation? Hell no. If this conspiracy theory proves anything it's that Microsoft is lending BioWare a hand. This leak generated great positive buzz for ME3. The tidbits gleaned have revitalized speculation by giving fans new topics to talk about. This was the best thing to happen to ME3's marketing campaign yet.

I've never been a believer in anything being done "accidentally", any publicity is good publicity. They got ME3 out there in the news right before Skyrim comes out.

There forums were flooded, they got feedback on the combat, the health and shield meters, the different gaming modes, and some other things. Then if something looked bad, they can chalk it up to being an unpolished demo.
