I've yet to read any spoilers.

Is the story good? Be honest.:P

My opinion's not worth a damn, but I'm pretty underwhelmed. On of my favourite characters just got killed off and I'm barely surprised. There seems to be a fair bit of oocness and railroading, although I suppose the former can be saved with some cracky / clever writing.

On ther other hand, the notes read like chicken scratch and very very early movie drafts (referencing a star wars scene with no ewoks lmao), so I'm not worried yet.

Also, if you care about side characters as much as I do, this is gonna hurt...Only reason I'm still smiling is due to a lack of dramatic music.

From the opinions on spoiled members, I'm expecting Shepard to pull a rabbit out of his ass to destroy the Reapers. But then again it's a rough copy.

As for me, Shepard and ass rabbit is far more believeable explanation than one from leak:mellow:

That bad? Really? I may as well read it then(just that bit). Only something that was good in the first place can be ruined.

To reassure those concerned that the story looks to be awesome?  Maybe?

Worked for me - thanks muchly Cheez

Same here. Cheers for the info Admiral :)

What annoys me is that certain people can't accept that there are still people out there looking forward to the game after reading the leaks. It's also pretty damn arrogant of people to come onto Bioware forums and blatantly insult Bioware employees like Marc Walters and such. Thing that makes me laugh are the people trying to sound dramatic with their "oh i'm cancelling my pre-order" speeches. What exactly does that prove? I bet come launch day they'll be first in line to buy the game. For people that think Bioware are so useless when it comes to making games and stories, i'd love to see them go and get a job at Bioware so they can taste just how tough working on a game is. Certain people need to get off their high horses - the way they talk they honestly think Mass Effect has been made for them and only them. Just because you come to the Bioware forums doesn't give you the right to constantly insult the work that Bioware have done  - no matter how hardcore a fan you think you are. We don't even know how much of this info has made the final draft of the game and already certain people are labelling it a failure.

This thread should be kept as spoiler-free as possible. ;) If you really want to know, go to the group discussion I linked to above.

Ditto. But is the reason any good? (esp. considering players that were loyal to IM).

I don't doubt her judgement  but she can be a little lenient I think. As you can see there's a huge split in forum opinion. I'm waiting for someone Harsher like Saphra to chime in. I know poll time! CLik

It's not really unexpected though, from my experience. From the posts that I've
been reading, it's still pretty much the people that are still looking
forward to the game on one end and the others that are convinced that
ME3 is going to be the worst game ever, now even more than before.

As for the rest of your post, agreed. ;) So in the end, things haven't changed much... :P

What rubbish. I personally don’t care if anyone else is or isn’t excited about the game. I care about my experience and my experience alone. It annoys you that some people are dissatisfied? They have as much right to be concerned or dissatisfied as you have to be giddy and pleased. They have played Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, the same as you. They have invested as much time as you. They will be spending the same amount of their hard earned money on Mass Effect 3 as you are going to. Why on earth would you think that their opinions and concerns don’t matter?

And please, show me the quote from Terms of Use or anything else that states all who come to this forum must sing every praise and can never voice concern over issues? As I said, I don’t care about your experience. I care about mine and if I see something that worries me or that gives me pause, I will voice my concern over it. I love Bioware and I desperately want to love Mass Effect 3. I want it to do well. I want it to blow my mind when I play it. The spoilers I have heard about make me scratch my head and think, “wtf is this?” I have that right. Maybe it will be unfounded, I hope it is. Until then, I am basing my opinion on what I see. Just because you come to the Bioware forum doesn’t give you the right to dictate how other fans should feel and how they express themselves. Maybe your high-horse is getting a bit tired. Give it a rest.

Videogames are simply interactive movies at this point. It's totally possible to get emotional.

Heavy Rain pulled at my heartstrings multiple times, and Dragon Age II actually had me choked up when Hawke's mother went through what she did, simply because I thought I'd royally screwed up and cost her life.

...then I had a second playthrough and realized it happens no matter what. **** that noise.

Wow.  I mean, wow.

Your decisions (at least who lives and dies) matter.  And you won't believe who's coming back, the places you get to go, the things you get to do, who lives and dies, who's siding with whom and why...  For a sh*tty rough outline, this is gonna be amazing.

This is AdmiralCheez, tell you personally that the game has not been ruined.  ME3, judging by a very early implementation of its storyline, is going to rock and rock hard.  And, looking at the gameplay footage, combat and squad banter has been improved 300%.

There were some parts that were a bit blah, but no worse than what we've already dealt with and nothing so facepalmy as the Lazarus Project.

And I can guarantee you will f*cking cry.

(If you think this is too optimistic, please, read the damn title.  I am legit gushing over what I've read, though, and I haven't found any game-ruiners in here at all.)

Is it wrong that I read your post hearing Peter Cullen's voice in my head?

I would like to ask,... what do you mean by "huge"? Do you mean the potential emotional impact on the players? The lenght of the game (maybe based on the number of missions / quests)? Or the size of some levels (providing that it was possible to figure it out from that document)?

For me, I liked it. However, I haven't really analyzed it per se for plot holes etc but from what I have seen, it seems that Bioware would deliver on the emotional and tragic side of ME3.
Have you seen the image of Patyrk's wounded Shepard, alone and fighting desperately for survival? Think that in terms of how the tone of the story will turn out.
However, I'm still unclear about the story RPG elements. I'm positive that many people will not be too pleased about how Bioware delivers on the C&C of the game. BUT... that is still up in the air for now. :pinched:

This one is also pretty nice, non-spoilerific summary.;)

Still, IRC, you tend to put  a lot of emphasis on the story and I remember you wishing that ME had some really big branching story options like... maybe Witcher 2 or something like that... so... How does it look so far in this regard?

To be honest, I read that script just now, not 'cause I wanted spoilers. I did it to see why people keep raging here and judging ME3 and this whole shananigan is so wrong. This is just partial draft, a concept without true info nor how all decisions will play out. Some scenarios have several versions written and some don't and seriously, how can anyone judge ME3 by looking at something that is vague concept, a hint what may play out? I just don't get it... how can so many people on BSN be so shallow and judgmental, so quick on trigger? Especially, when something is far away from finished and done? I'm honestly sorry 'cause this thing happened and I wish I could show better support for BW ME3 team. Now I'm waiting to see if Admiral Cheese or anyone else not throwing garbage at BW will be accused of fanboism too... 'cause that the latest fashion here - 'tis cool to be in 'haters without real reason' club and BSN became yet another high school it seems.

For what is worth - dear ME3 team, I read the script and it is what it is, just rough concept, nothing more. You should find the person who leaked this 'cause this wasn't a mistake, this was deliberate and ugly, malevolent. After you do that, get up, smile and finish what you started. As old Arabic proverb would say: The dogs may bark; the caravan goes on!I know that I'm very happy that I managed to pre-order ME3 (no matter difficulties I had). And Cheese, never mind the bollocks, you are here and all is good :) .

Nimrodell, unfortunately your post will fall upon deaf ears. It's happened and the forum is rampant with anger, like some others (me) just deal with it. Same goes to Cheez, this thread was a waste of time, it will be ignored by the majority. If you both want to help then help by reporting spoiler threads or posts. Help new or oblivious members from being spoiled, that's the best you can do for now. Enough with this kindness, back to douchebaggery I go.

Because they are mentally deficit plebeians who think they can escape their peasantry by rebelling against the established order.

^^Agree.  The leak changed no opinions.

Of course, it doesn't bother me either way.  Hell, I re-read books all the time and I enjoy them nearly as much the tenth time as I did the first.

I personally didn't find very much in what was leaked that I hadn't already worked out myself.  Honestly, I think there's a lot more hype going on than is warranted.  JMO.

Alright, so as my friends here have no doubt noticed, I've had very limited time for BSN lately. First time I came back after two days to discover the beta leak. Now I come back after another off-day to discover this.

OK, I'm glad Cheez and quite a few others are pleased with what they've seen. It's unfortunate that plenty of other folks are not. But that's ever-expected. I'm curious to know how much of the apparently-very-rough draft ends up in the final product, but I'm going to do my best to avoid all those spoilers. I won't be reading the draft; I'll also try limiting my exposure to these forums from hereon out until release day. Yeah, it sucks, I like a lot of you. But it's going to be pretty hard to avoid discussions of these potential spoilers.

Pretty... damn... hard.

Once again, from combing a couple of threads for research (while somehow managing to avoid the actual spoilers themselves! Whoo!) it sounds like this is a pretty rough draft indeed. So a lot of things might have changed. Either way, it's as polarizing as ever, of course.

So wait, do marshalleck and Terror_K actually like what they've seen, though? If that's the case, then wow. Mission accomplished, BioWare Edmonton; pack up your bags and go home, you won't do any better than this. :P

No, were were just saying that IF they did, it's be a snowy day in h311. marsh hasn't been around that I've seen, I think terror_K dislikes, not totally sure on that one.
