First of all, there are 2 parts to this one is DLC missing and then i lost my saves and my character. I PLAY ON A MAC
I went to soldiers peak and got a lot of wardens keep DLC then i went to the mage tower to quest. before i went in the fade my party had their items but when i got out i was missing everything i had just gotten from soldiers peak.
I was trying to open daorigins.exe to get console so i could type in commands but it wouldn't let me because i play on a mac. I was downloading a boot camp and wine to try and open it but it didn't work. I downloaded some other stuff and was messing around with things to see if anything worked. But never moved files from their spot.
I tryed to log back on and it didn't let me click on load game or downloadable content. (character, saves, DLC gone)
help if you can. I really would appreciate it. fun game and just got to 12, but bioware needs better tech support cause ive been reading forum posts all night and i got nothing.
thanks

Forums aren't Bioware tech support. It's mostly experienced gamers offering help. There is also a sticky thread over on the PC side which deals exclusively with DLC issues. Might be worth having a look.
there is a thread here on this subforum which explains how to open the console on Mac. No need to open daorigins.exe.
Official tech support is here.

On the Bioware forums, "PC" refers to the Microsoft Windows operating system, while "Mac" refers to the Mac OS X operating system.
To activate the DAO console on Mac OS X, go to your ~/Library/Preferences/Dragon Age Origins Preferences/ folder, and open the config file with TextEdit. Scroll down to the bottom and add:
[AppDefaults\\daorigins.exe\\transgaming]
"cmdlineadd" = "-enabledeveloperconsole"
As for your missing characters and save games, please check your ~/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Characters folder. Does this folder still exist, and if so what are its contents?

it shows, "Godric", my character (and even my Leliana character for when i did leliana's song for 3 minutes then deleted her.) Inside the godric folder is: (Godric_portair.png, Godric.jpg, Godric.xml) all crap, and yes it has my saves.
It has my Slot_1 wich i used every time and my 4 latest auto saves which i saw before my saves went missing.
Its like everything is there but when i go to play nothing is there. (not even my DLC, even after i re dowloaded it and awakening isn't there either even though i bought the ultimate edition.

The console text is invisible, you will have to download and install this mod to make it visible. In addition, if you have trouble using the tilde key, you can re-bind it manually by opening the file KeyBindings.ini in ~/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Settings and editing the line "OpenConsole_0=" to your liking. For example "OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_C" will bind your "C" key to the console.
For your character and DLC issues I can only suggest a full re-install of the game.
Be sure to make a backup of your ~/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Characters folder first, copy paste it to the desktop or anywhere else.
The full uninstallation process is as follows:
While connected to the internet, run the Dragon Age launcher and de-authorize your game. After that manually delete ALL of the following folders: /Applications/Dragon Age, ~/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age, ~/Library/Preferences/Dragon Age Origins Preferences and ~/Library/Preferences/Cider Preferences. Now re-install the game and all your DLCs.
Once you have re-installed, move your backup Characters folder back to ~/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age. And don't forget that you will have to re-enable the console again, as your previous settings have all been wiped.

1. is the default console command the tilde?

The default key should be tilde, yes. In case of doubt look at your KeyBindings.ini file.
You will have to unzip the downloaded file, and place only "fonts.erf" in ~/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/packages/core/data/.

Alright my reinstallation worked and now i have my character back and his saves. but, i was trying to do console and i installed the mod and console and it showed the grave/tilde key to be the default i tryed it and it didn't work. so i changed it to the o key and it didn't work. well i couldn't see it at least.
I just want my stuff back and i think console has a command to get my stuff back.

do you put a space in between
[AppDefaults\\daorigins.exe\\transgaming]
"cmdlineadd" = "-enabledeveloperconsole"
and the end of the rest in config or just after with o space?
i followed all the steps but i don't now whats wrong
and another question. If i don't have a save from before, when i had my wardens keep gear, is it even possible for me to get it back?

Did you enable the console again by editing the config file in ~/Library/Preferences/Dragon Age Origins Preferences/ after you reinstalled? Otherwise I can only suggest you to retrace all the steps I already mentioned in this topic, if you do them correcty the console does work.
To add items with the console you will have to install another mod by the way: AddItem Script.

OMG not again!!!!
i just finished orzamar and the deep roads and i went to camp and saw the return to ostagar square is no longer yellow (cant go to it.) i only have one save that might be good but its from 4 hours before (and i dont even know f its good.)
i already went to bann lorens lands and got the quest and i still have it but not place on map. i still have the honnaleath place on my map though. so im confused why RTO is gone but not honneleath.
thanks
