I still think ME3 will be a fantastic game. But its definitely not what ME1 promised. No spoilers.

Wait, what? What is happening? Did the final script of the game get leaked onto the internet? Or are morons making assumptions on practically nothing again?

An incomplete and old outline of the story got extracted from the beta files.

Guess they were right this game is great for new players. One's who loved the first two installments are going to be raging about the mess they've made of things players they cared out.

The main issue they needed to make this game working for players without knowledge of ME and ME2.
If they were smart, they would sell ME & ME2 as bundle for maybe 30 bucks so you can catch up if you didn't get your hands on it already - nooo ... some dudes claim "you don't need ME1 and ME2 to enjoy ME3, don't buy it, it works without".

Sure, from PoV of profit-making that makes sense. You don't wanna force players to buy old titles for a new one, you want them buying the new title first and THEN go for the older parts. That's okay for me, but it also kills the opportunity to create a truly changeable universe.

well if you can join the Reapers that, I would imagine, could have a big *change* on the galaxy!

Hate to break it to you, but this will not be the canon ending that gets declared even if it's a possible ending in the game (which I always assumed it would be).

And yes, I went there.  BW will eventually declare a canon ending to ME3 that they will use to build future titles on.  I honestly can't believe anyone ever thought otherwise.  I can also nearly guaran-damn-tee you that that ending will be along the lines of Shepard wasting the Reapers, saving Earth, and getting the girl.

And the girl will be blue and fell in love with Shepard just days after he rescued her.

It's not the canon!ending I'd favor, but it's not my story.

Umm... Maybe the first two, but if you'd read the full script you'd see that there may be a problem with the last one. Don't wan to say much more than that.

I lost all enthusiasm for ME3 when multiplayer was added, so I don't really mind.

I've begun to realize I don't really care about Mass Effect anymore. I would look forward to Dragon Age but that's ruined too. Kinda done with BioWare until they announce their new game....which hopefully doesn't disappoint.

The script as it is assumes certain decisions were made in past games, but it is not complete and doesn't cover everything.  The genophage subplot alone depends on multiple variables from all three games.

Also, dem endings.

Yeah, it is not the big buy that it was before the co-op announcements.  I find myself looking at other games that are coming out around that time.  I will probably still buy ME3 unless the reviews come out and it is a failure.

However, I think ME3 will be the last of my BioWare buys if they continue down the path they are going.  I don't think they are the same RPG company that I love so much.  EA has too much influence.

BTW, I haven't read the spoilers and have no intention to do so.  However, seeing the response across the net, it doesn't look good at ALL!:(

See bioware, your so obsessed with another audience who dont give a damn about you, your runing games and alienating your own fans.

Unless you come up with a great IP I will say your going to vanish in a few years. You killed dragon age, now mass effect.

Hope those casuals are worth it.

Those big words were describing ME1 itself, and subsequently established the tone of marketing for the rest of the series. It's just a matter of adapting to Bioware's interpretative catchphrases.

AWESOME BUTTONNNN!!! EMOTIONALLY ENGAGINGGGG!!!

Sorry about that *cough*. But yes I agree their marketing is terrible

I only skimmed over the spoilers myself, but it's getting pretty unanimously bashed over on Neogaf.

No, you can add me to that list as well. I haven't devled as far into the leaks/spoilers as others have but I'm not sold that we've seen enough to say conclusively that:

-- our decisions will have no big effects
-- we can't have personalized characters (I'm going on 5 very distinct Shepards already and fail to see how I'd lose that, even if they were to change nothing from how it is RIGHT NOW)
-- we won't have an impact on the galaxy. In ME2 alone, Shepard had a huge impact on things: alien attitude towards humans (old council/no old council), state of Tuchanka (Wrex/no Wrex)...

BW is gonna go all-out in this one and it's going to be epic. Take that one to the bank.

Please.  Madden gets unanimously bashed for getting the layout of certain football stadiums slightly off.

This is the internet.

No she's not.

Honestly, half of the people that has commented has NOT read the original source. Even when some did, they just toss out wild conclusions based on nothing more than opinions and assumptions,

This is truly confirmation bias in its finest form.:P

Madden gets bashed for a lot more than that.  What it mainly gets bashed for is unevolving gameplay, the inability to still call penalties right, super LB that jump like Michael Jordan and physic DBs.

In other words, it gets bashed for crappy game play and horrible presentation.  You know, things that were being done in the last gen of consoles but not this one...

But that is apples and oranges to what is being complained about with the ME3 info we have.
