I did this once before and I don't remember it being like this. This time around its nearly impossible to even do any damage before all of us die. I am only like level 10 so im guessing im not ready. My real question is there any negatives to come from ignoring this quest for awhile? I dont want Morrigan to end up dead or something. There was a dialogue asking her if there WAS a time limit on this but I didnt ask because I didnt think it would be this tough this time. IDK what t is, maybe my first playthrough I went to the Circle last?

No bad things happen to Morrigan. No real negatives either.

Morrigan only cares about getting Flemeth's Grimoire. You can always make a deal with her mother to give you the key without bloodshed, and there will be no repercussions from Morrigan.

Its my understanding that "killing" her won't actually kill her right? Just make things tougher on her or something? So either way she probably would be in DA3?

I did this at level 12 and couldn't quite get the job done. Came back at 14 and had a much better time. I think I only used 1 potion.

But where's the fun in not doing it the hard way?

In fairness, Flemeth does level up with you to a certain degree, so just going away and coming back later doesn't necessarily mean the scales are more tilted in your favour.
But it does give you a chance to equip yourself with everything you need to make the fight a doddle - Wynne's Healing spells, a buffed Shale, and Greater Warmth Balms go a loooong way here.

I don't know about you but I found that the swift salve was more important, maybe because I needed to get a 2h attack in before flemeth claws you.
