That the finishing moves against ogres are the same if you're using waraxes or battleaxes as with swords?  Axes don't really seem to be stabbing weapons, after all.

If I knew how to do animations, I'd make a mod for this.

Yeah, I know what you mean. My Dwarf Commoner Rogue wields the Reaper's Cudgel as one of his main weapons, and it's hilarious to see him stabbing ogres through the eye with it. XD

There are examples of battleaxes that had a spike:

So I suppose a spiking motion might be possible with an axe of that particular type.

Yeah. And my mage is shown using a blade even when she kills things with a spell or her staff. She's shown gutting the archdemon with a blade, even though she used Cone of Cold. She's shown stabbing Loghain, even though she's not even CARRYING a blade; she'd use her staff.

Still, DA: O got almost everything else right -- and did everything much, MUCH better than DA2 -- so I'm willing to overlook the blade-popping-out-of-nowhere thing.

All Grey Wardens get a standard issue stainless steel Shanking Knife ™ for all their stabbing needs. Apparently.

It's not just Wardens. Isolde pulls a blade out of nowhere to kill Connor. Must be a Ferelden thing... *shrug*

Hey, don't knock the power of the Shanking Knife! It kills anybody to whom it's been applied with just a scratch! To date, Morrigan is the only character who (supposedly) has ever managed to survive it. ;)
