I can see no negative to Ian, Kaisy and Saphra deciding not to buy the game, and subsequently not posting on the forums. It's their choice, isn't it?

Thing is, for all their crap, they still troll around these forums complaining how bad the sequels are, because, you know, they are bad.

And they will make sure you know.

Multiple times.

And they won't go away, because that would be too much common sense: to abandon a place where one discusses a really bad game. Nah. Much better to indulge in masochistic narcissistic practices, showing everyone how hipster you are by demeaning everything that isn't up to your standards (practically nothing, excepting one or two examples just for show).

Skyrim isn't out yet and I haven't been banned yet so just be patient. I promise once I get my hands on Skyrim I'll be here a lot less if at all.

Though if ME3 gets any significant changes I might change my mind someday and then you'll have to suffer my company again.

By Casey's tweets, one can notice that he is extremely pi***d by this story leak. Which means that probably the script hasn't changed that much.

No, since people read the old draft they now think the content in it is set in stone and that it's impossible that there have been made changes to it, which of course results in people judging the game based on information that is outdated. That is what is pissing him off.

Hmm...in such a case, should that happen in the future (following days), and some people actually whine non-stop for something that they won't even buy, that tells something about them, I think.

Nonesense.  The basic script is one of the first things finalized and can't be changed easily becauese of the cascade effect and Casey knows that perfectly well.  At best some details might be altered and/or some things might be cut, but Casey and others have by their actions and words pretty much confirmed that much of the leaked information is in fact accurate.

Fans from the Russian Bioware website. No real "hacking" is needed, I've accessed TLK files of ME2 myself when I wanted to mess around and mod some dialogue responses, it isn't difficult. The problem is that they were THERE. In a beta-demo-something.

I did not know that :| shows how much i bloody know haha.

Don't worry, it's not exactly common knowledge. There was a thread back when ME2 came out which contained instructions on how to access the dialogue TLK files in order to, say, translate them to your own language if it's not supported officially. It wasn't popular because, well, it's purpose was to extend the game TO the least popular.

But the means existed for a long time, that's the point. The Russian hackers' problem was that once they had extracted the info, they decided to just... post it on the net. It's just beyond me why anyone would do that.

Why shouldn't they?

If someone doesn't want to look, they don't have to.

Some of us would like to make an informed decision before we go to the effort of sandboxing and crippling Origin so that we can play ME3 without being treated like criminals and spied upon, instead of being treated as what we are -- customers, who bought their product.  So I'm going to go hunting for the leaked info.

You could apply that logic to all the information we have on ME3. Chances are alot of that script will be present in the game and if people are going to form an opinon on the game and even not buy it because of that then that's fair enough.

They shouldn't have for the same reason that you wouldn't like your own work-in-progress (Whatever it would be) be leaked in the internet for everyone else to see.

Perhaps you don't mind, but that just tells me that you don't have any respect for your own goddamned work.

Always someone who has to try to make it personal.  Sheesh.

We're talking about a company that wants my money, end of story.

Then Bioware should sue Microsoft for negligence.  That is the appropriate response.  The fact is the Russian user took a public file from a publically posted Demo.  That is not illegal or even imoral.

A solid product overpowers scrutiny, leaks, information dissemination and press. A solid product wows the user and makes them remember why they bought into the franchise in the first place.

DA 2 and now it seems ME3 made a lot of fans of the original DA and the first two Mass Effects very alienated. If Bioware believes they can fill this void with the 15-21 year old ADHD crowd they're sorely mistaken. Profits before integrity isn't the way for a game company to be.

CH's latest tweet:

“@ashbzak: I know #ME3 will be great, and fans like myself will avoid spoilers at all costs.” We appreciate that tremendously.

If the leaked script is inaccurate then its contents cannot be considered spoilers.

I have no idea if it is legal or not (it shouldn't be illegal, but these copyright laws we have are insane, so I never know for sure, although I'm strongly suspecting it *is* illegal), but to say it isn't "imoral" is bollocks. It's about decency, and the russian user never had it. He felt he had gold in his hands and couldn't control his own urge to ejaculate it to the internetz.

Am I mad with him? No, I really, really couldn't care less about the bozo.

He was still a ****ing bozo.

That's because it's not 100% inaccurate. Some parts are true. Hence, spoilers.

The information was publically available.  The Russian user did nothing wrong.  Now had that user attempted to sell that information or pass it off as his/her own, then that would be different, but it clearly falls under 'fair use'.  It's up to Bioware to defend it's intellectual property, not the anonymous user.

BSN the place where not sucking biowares **** makes you a troll.

The best part is the game will be ****, and you were warned. Enjoy pissing away money that could be used on better games.

Examples?

I can't access twitter right now (at work), but he wrote something like "shenanigans are afoot", "tomfoolery", and  answering to a guy who said he would not read the story leaks, Casey answered that "We appreciate that tremendously".

Of course I'm just guessing about his mood. But I did made some games before, (very little/never released ones in computer science college as homework), and I know how much work is involved in the production process (it took me a few weeks to make something similar to Pac Man, and just to create a VERY simple collision detection in a little level of a doom like fps, I spent an almost sleepless week ). They might have changed much of the original draft, cause sometimes you only notice something is not as good as you thought it would be after you made it. But, since they said here to "avoid the spoilers" so we get the full experience, it gives me a hint that not much of the script have been changed.

In my case, I really don't care. I pre-ordered it almost 6 months ago, and I will play the game. Several times. I wasn't expecting almost anything from the plot, the only thing I still hope is to see Tali's face (yeah, Talimancer here). Bring on the reapers and the squaddies that stay on my way. Gonna send them to hell and save the world or go renegade and destroy everyone.

Well that's an improvement on the "lalalala none of it is necessarily true" stance of some posters.

Perhaps people here have the Meal-mentality.

The first meal is diverse and filling. The second course is to compliment all the different tastes you've had to discern from the first. And the third course is the least- the dessert. It's supposed to leave a sweet taste in your mouth- even though the content is 1/8th of the first meal, and the same price.

People 'trolling' about Bioware games 'sucking' are mostly mature gamers who are savvy enough to understand that Bioware is doing less and asking for more- and if people are okay with that, you're basically the downfall of western civilization.

Christ, from the way people are ****ing about all this, you'd think Bioware had promised to repaint everyone's houses, taken the money, then flattened said house and ran off laughing.

It's a game, people, gets some bloody perspective. If you don't like what they're doing with the series/ME3, fine that's your opinion but I for one am sick and tired of reading the same damn diatribes over and over again; people are acting like this is a personal betrayal for gods sake. I've read comments that're so caustic I'm surprised my monitor still works. People are getting more worked up over this than I did when someone drove into my car, and that cost hundreds of pounds which I had to pay - I didn't have an option. Yet there are people spitting venom over a product, the purchase of which is entirely voluntary.

Don't like the game, don't buy the game, don't post on the forum and save the rest of us the tedium of wading through post after post of the same damn comments just worded differently.

You think it's all poorly written/badly constructed/lazily conceived/a sell-out/a GOW clone/dumbed down/over-simplified/no longer a RPG/not a patch on ME1/ME2 etc, etc (delete as appropriate).

We get it.

Move on.

That's actually a pretty reasonable analogy.  Bioware promised us that we'd have a rich and climactic ending where our choices in ME1 and ME2 really mattered and came to full fruition.  Near as I can tell, they lied.
