Why does there have to be a "next threat"?
I personally like the idea of a Galactic civil war myself and I think it could be worked in with both the paragon and renegade paths, just with different reasons for violent disagreement.
If the reapers are beaten, whats going to be the next threat?

"If the Reapers are defeated, what's going to be the next threat?"
I believe it shall be a Battle for control of the Citadel... The Established Order - Asari Republics, Salarian Union, Turian Heiarchy and Systems Alliance Vs. The New Galactic Order: Comprised of the outcast. An alliance forged in the Terminus Systems, by Cerberus, The Migrant Fleet, The Rachni, The Krogan led by Urdnot Wrex and Orthodox
Geth...
I am all but convinced that Commander Shepard does not need the Council to have his back.He has made his own allies. He has his own resources.Like the Shadow Broker. What does the Council have to offer
him? Shepard didn't need the Council to take down the Collectors.
BioWare has said that ME3 is like WW2 in space.I don't think that's very accurate. If Mass Effect IV takes place Post Reaper Invasion:
Than these two sides going at it, would sort of parallel the Axis Powers and the Allied Powers conflicts in World War 2.But in ME4, the question would be.Who is the bad guy, and who is the good guy here?
Should the Council be dethroned and replaced with something different?
That could be a very compelling argument to have, and conflict to take place...
