Hey, I love Mordin and Wrex as much as the next guy (they're on par with Garrus and Tali for me), but they're not exactly the kind of people to have time to just hang around Shepard's ship all the time. Wrex is uniting the clans on Tuchanka and Mordin is a genius scientist who would probably do more good working in a lab not constantly on the move.

Which reminds me of Tali & Garrus who would be much more needed on their homeworlds.

No. Since the numbers of spots is limited, it makes sense to give the spot to characters who only had it once, not to Tali & Garrus who had it twice already. That pleases more people throughout the entire trilogy than focusing on pleasing the same fanbase as in ME2 again and again.

No. Since the numbers of spots is limited, it makes sense to give the spot to characters who only had it once, not to Tali & Garrus who had it twice already. That pleases more people throughout the entire trilogy than focusing pleasing the same fanbase as in ME2 again.

Risky. I believe that it's likely that, regardless of what squadmate role sizes are, each fan group would feel the same way about each squadmate getting that spot. The VS fans want a large role because it would make up for ME2, while the Dextro fans want a large role because of the precedent set. We of Liara's house, of course, are confident of glory eternal because our hands have touched divinity, but that's beside the point. People will be equally pleased or pissed regardless of whom they like, if their squadmate has a certain role, and it's safer to focus on the more popular ones in such a case.

I don't see why you have to belong to one or the other camp. Characters from both lineups will be in the game in differing capacaties, and pretty much every character that was a squadmate in ME1 has a major role.

There's been an albatross hanging over those particular two ever since ME1, regrettably. And the way things are now, if this plot must take place, then it seems most appropriate for them to fulfill it.

The point is, every other character has to 'fight' for that 2nd spot. And the pool is limited. And here comes Tali & Garrus to make that pool even smaller. And they already had their 2nd spot. I like Garrus myself alot. But I like other characters too and would like to see more of them, Legion for example. Or Wrex.

The Reapers aren't restricted to Earth. They're slowly but steady cleansing the galaxy.

Garrus probably knows that he can make more of a difference by Shepard's side than fighting Reapers on Pavalen.

Same with the rest of the crew that are actively by Shepard's side.

Second time as a perma squaddie. Garrus and Tali already were and will be perma squaddies AGAIN, for the 3rd time, while the rest of the characters have to 'fight' to get even that 2nd time.
