Risky. I believe that it's likely that, regardless of what squadmate role sizes are, each fan group would feel the same way about each squadmate getting that spot. The VS fans want a large role because it would make up for ME2, while the Dextro fans want a large role because of the precedent set. We of Liara's house, of course, are confident of glory eternal because our hands have touched divinity, but that's beside the point. People will be equally pleased or pissed regardless of whom they like, if their squadmate has a certain role, and it's safer to focus on the more popular ones in such a case.

The point is, every other character has to 'fight' for that 2nd spot. And the pool is limited. And here comes Tali & Garrus to make that pool even smaller. And they already had their 2nd spot. I like Garrus myself alot. But I like other characters too and would like to see more of them, Legion for example. Or Wrex.

And if BioWare did that then what, he deserves that spot less than Tali?

Tali's been by Shepard's side throughout ME1 AND ME2.

Tali's the daughter of an Admiral in the Quarian fleet, and poised to join the Admiralty Board herself eventually.

Tali's also a brilliant engineer.

Jacob is a relatively decent combatant. Not the best. Not the brightest. Nobody of importance outside of the fact that he was in the Cerberus facility with you when you were attacked.

Oh gee I wonder who deserves the squad spot more.

Hint: It's not Mr. Bland.

I don't follow this. There are more returning squadmates from ME1 than from ME2. There are more scripted ME2 squadmate deaths than ME1 squadmate deaths, if the spoilers are to be believed. So what's the problem?

Edit: Removed Spoilers

Oh, you mean EDIT: REMOVED SPOILERS Yeah, I guess you have a point there.

Second time as a perma squaddie. Garrus and Tali already were and will be perma squaddies AGAIN, for the 3rd time, while the rest of the characters have to 'fight' to get even that 2nd time.

Narratively speaking, I don't know how well that would honestly work. With Tali and Garrus being, in fact, so attached to Shepard for the first two games, the third section of the trilogy would be an extremely odd time for them to jump ship.

You left out the part where he was exceptional in the alliance military and is an above average biotic. Was part of the alliance's version of the spectres or stg. And he left to "fight the good fight" instead of whining about how the geth have wronged them and doing nothing about it or trying to stop the hostilities.

If any other squadmate had been in Tali's situation, they'd probably reacted in a similar manner, considering how strong they reacted to their own family.

By the way, I'd honestly rather talk about doing things/how they're done than something like religion and/or poetry.

Mister-petitioning-for-Kaidan-to-be-S/S-until-Bioware-gives-in doesn't get to whine about Bioware giving in to fanservice. :wizard:

Bioware always gives in to fanservice.

If it proves popular? They'll do it.

People like Tali? Tali romance.

People like Garrus? Garrus romance.

People want Kaidan S/S romance? Kaidan S/S romance.

You can't have one and then **** about the others Isaac.

Shepard: Looks like the war's finally c-

Garrus: Sorry, I'm leaving.

Shepard: Wait, why?

Garrus: I need to make room so Liara can stay aboard.

Shepard: Where are you going?

Garrus: Nowhere in particular.

Funny how when it's not your favorite character being paid fanservice, it's wrong. I don't think we'd hear any objections from certain parties if a s/s Kaidan were to return for all three games.

Well for Garrus I can see that he really has no other place to go but Tali is a different story.  She is the daughter of an Admiral on the board and can possibly be the replacement for her father.  In the final version, I'm hoping you get a choice to let Tali become an admiral or have her stay with you on the Normandy.  Depending on your decisions, her assisting in leading the Quarians in the final battle could have a positive or negative impact depending on your past with her.  Ex. If Tali leads the Quarians in the final battle, there is a much higher chance that the Quarian race will survive the battle.  The downside is that you will not have her in your squad at the end and you will need another engineer to replace her skills (Legion is pretty useful).

take note, Bioware. it will only get worse. unless you do end up giving all characters equal treatment after all

Yeah, I have read very little about Vega in those files and haven't seen much of him, and I already like him better than like 80% of the human squadmates.

Hell, I have more of a personal attachment to Legion.
