Is Mass Effect 3 your most aniticipated game of all time?

ME3 is going to be amazing!! It's going to make the complete awesomeness that is ME2 look like freakin' Q*Bert, which was a swell game in its own right and super edgy for its time, what with the swearing and all. I think in some ways BioWare must have been inspired by Q*Bert.
You have the dynamic of light vs dark, paragon vs renegade in Mass Effect and the active vs inactive cubes in Q*Bert. The playing field may be a series of cubes in Q*Bert, but I feel that was always a great analogy for the galaxy, both being a series of geometrically aligned individual facets all anchored and bound to each other in the empty space. Shepard essentially is Q*Bert, striving to bring his/her light to the galaxy and illuminate every dark corner just as Q*Bert strives to change the color of every cube while simultaneously avoiding the enemies that may as well be the reapers themselves.
But this isn't about Q*Bert, though Q*Bert is truly inspired; this is about Mass Effect. I mean, I have never played a game series so awesome since, well, since Q*Bert. Mass Effect takes the principles of Q*Bert, and everything that was awesome about Q*Bert, and pushes them all the way to their limits. No longer do we struggle vainly against our enemies only to mutter a censored curse at the hopelessness of our task. Now we can engage our emotions fully by punching unarmed civilian women, pushing men out of tall buildings and following it with an amazingly cool one-liner, and decapitate people with our friends along for the ride.
I should stop now because this is only making the wait more agonizing. I know in my heart of hearts that when ME3 is finally released I will break down and weep giant tears of ecstasy, my arms outstretched to the heavens and an unspoken "thank you" on my lips. Such a feeling I have not felt since Q*Bert was released on the Game Boy so many years ago, and I know this time it will truly be the rapture. Metaphorically speaking, of course.

Of course, ME3 still has 4 months to go, I suspect that my anticipation will far outstrip TBC in the coming months.

I hope the universe continues with more ME games in the future. Shep's story may end here, but the ME universe still goes on.

Other big games I have gone crazy over and went to midnight releases for include any of the Zeldas, Smash Bros. Brawl, Dragon Age 2, Mario Galaxy 2, and currently Skyrim.

No, That title goes to the original Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis. Then probably TMNT on nintendo. Then the biggest let down in my gaming career, ME2, which made me stop trusting that word BioWare on the side of a box meant quality game. ME3 is now maybe a 20 dollar bargain bin pick-up for me...40 if the ME1 style weapons came back.
ME 2 not a quality game? A several GOTY awards seem to indicate otherwise.

ME3 was my most anticipated games until I saw the news about Cerberus and read the leak that proved the game had a worse plot than Ninja Gaiden 2 and proved without a shadow of a doubt the devs' Paragon bias.
The paragon bias was never in question, it was obviously there from the beginning. If you couldn't accept that, then you never really liked Mass Effect. It's a (great) linear story that is disguised with the illusion of choice, but that's ok, because it really is a great game. It has pushed the limits of the cinematic gaming experience and the trilogy will be remembered very fondly in the future. So it doesn't have huge impactful decisions; what it does have is opportunities to tweak and flavor each playthrough, which makes for some amazing replayability. It truly is an interactive movie, and I like that it's not trying to be a choose-your-own-adventure novel. Sandbox games are great, but linear games can be great too.
I would say that claiming ME3's plot is worse that Ninja Gaiden 2 is hyperbole, but that's not accurate because that would imply that Ninja Gaiden 2 had a plot. Funny thing is, I've actually been playing Ninja Gaiden 2 this week while I wait for Skyrim, and other than a few ridiculous/cheap parts, it is still one of the best 3rd person action games out there. Judging NG2 for what it is, a fast-paced stylish action game, it succeeds on almost every level.
So what's my point here...maybe I don't have one. I guess my advice to you would be to try to enjoy games for what they are instead of getting upset about what they could be. It tends to increase your happiness and you will enjoy a lot more things. But then again, I get that it is important to look at things critically...I guess my philosophy is to TRY to like things, and if after my best efforts of trying to like something I still hate it, then I know for sure it's bad. That's just what I need to do personally, because otherwise I would hate pretty much everything.
