This is quite confusing. My local gamestop says they will release the game for ps3 November 19. (In Denmark)
But bioware says there is no difference:
"
1.03
When will Dragon Age be released? (Back to top)
Dragon
Age: Origins will be released on November 3rd 2009 in North America and
November 6th 2009 in Europe on the Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 and PC."
http://dragonage.bio....com/game/#1.03
There is no mention of a difference between PC, 360 and PS3 release date. Who is mistaken?
PS3 EU Release?

If I could just get an exact release date for EU I would be happy. It is the mixed signals where some say November 19 and others say November 6 that annoys me. Fine if it is the November 19 and not November 6. I would just really like to know now.

Guys, relax! While the devs haven't been specific on this, from what I've been able to gather, this issue is out of BioWare's and EA's hands. Any game has to go through certification on PS3, but unlike with Microsoft, you have to submit your game to Sony branches in *each region you want to release your game in* separately. So what has more than likely happened is that SCEA(Sony America) was able to fit it into their schedules to certify the game for a November 3 release, whereas SCEE(Sony Europe) have not been able to do so, and thus the game cannot be released until they finish the certification. It stinks, but it's not a conspiracy, it's just how PS3 publishing works.

so why arent we told this and if they have a schedule why aint we got no dates
#13
Posté 01 novembre 2009 - 02:14
Because they can't tell you until they get a reply from Sony Europe. And if Sony Europe is basically telling them: "We will try, but can't promise anything" then BioWare can't tell you anything, because it's not good business practice in the industry to point fingers and go: "Yeah, it's all these guys' fault, we wanted to, but they wouldn't let us!" I understand the discrepancies in the dates is frustrating, but at this point, you are much better off just accepting the retailers' listing of November 19th as being the actual date.
*Edit* Thanks, Cheiron, was looking for that.

The simultaneous release for PS3 and PC/Xbox is only in North America. See also this article.

if this is, as i suspect, stuck in limbo at scee then we'll be lucky to even see it this month.
seriously, scee are worthless, they can't even get sony titles out on time.
but i still want some comment from bioware on this.
i'm a potential customer here, ignoring me is not a good way to get my custom, there's going to be a while before i actually get the game, that's long enough for me to decide to buy preowned if i keep getting ignored.

look bioware, i know you may think it's not a good idea to publicly criticise another company you have dealings with.
but you have to figure out where your real loyalties lie, with you fans and customers or the company that's stopping your game being released.
which group would you rather make happy?
or let me put it this way, who do you want to antagonise the least?
ignoring somebody a a very effective way of antagonising somebody by the way.

All websites say 20th November for PS3. That means I have to wait another 2 weeks. Yet the 360 and PC versions were released today!
nvm, gives me chance to finish off The Calling, then on to DAJ, just in time for the 20th. My collector's edition guide shipped today as well.
