Multiplayer that encourages immature behavior.
Whats not to like?
Honestly the appeal is completely lost on me. You've played one game you've played them all.

There's always some issues with the games based on opinions. MW3 is pretty good, I like it. It has things I like and things I don't.
So yeah, I like CoD.

No, this is where people say that for all the resources that go into developing CoD, there isn't a lot of innovation.C9316 wrote...
Is this when we all say FPS's are for morons and anyone who plays them are childish morons, and that games like Witcher 2 are for intelligent people?

I don't know about you, but who goes into a FPS looking for innovation?bobobo878 wrote...

If the whole industry had that kind of mentality, we'd still be playing goldeneye clones.C9316 wrote...

It just exists. Like greengoron89 said, it's like the Madden/FIFA/Final Fantasy of the FPS genre.
I do think, however, Modern Warfare tries waaaaaay too hard to shock its audience.

We wouldn't even have Goldeneye
We'd still be playing Doom

I am indifferent to them.
^. I never really get hyped up for 1st person shooters that rely on their their multiplayer component as its main selling point. The only 1st shooters I like are the ones that put narrative ahead of that, such as Half-Life, System Shock and Bioshock (well, the first one, anyway.)

IMHO, they're the Madden of FPS games - same game, different year, different number.

But this is different. If it ain't broke, why fix it? I'm not saying that we should discourage innovation, but CoD doesn't sell tens of millions of copies a year cause people hate it or think it's repackaged. And to the people that like to blame the marketing, you both severely underestimate people's intelligence and over estimate Activiosion's marketing skills. But to stay on point, when the fans start complaining, then IW should drastically change the CoD formula, till then I'll just keep enjoying it.

It's not broke by 2006 standards, but it's becoming a relic. I'm just saying that with all the money they're getting, they could develop something much better.
