....if I remember correctly.

Would anyone here like the option to save only the other half of the galaxy? I personally wouldn't go for it, but I've seen a lot of hate towards the council around these threads, so I was curious about what everyone else thought.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly.

I think Mariah is implying to not save "Citadel" space, and only save the Terminus Systems+Batarian Space.

Basically the majority of the races except Batarians get wasted.

That'd be hard to pull off. You are basically letting the Reapers win everywhere. A dangerous game, but it has its advantages...

I could of sworn that Council Space only made up less than 1% of the entire Milky Way Galaxy.

Citadel Civilization has only *explored* about 1% of the galaxy.

But may I remind everyone that this is three *billion* star systems. I've once calculated the total number of settled star systems as around 15000. Citadel Space is indescribably huge, but compared to the whole galaxy it's still small.

I don't think the entirety of the Citadel space* should be condemned/purged. Just let the council get wasted (again in some cases) and assume control in the power vacuum.

*Edited: Hang on a sec. I think we're confusing some things here. First off Citadel civilization does not mean Citadel races. "Citadel race" simply refers to any race that is a member of and subject to Citadel leadership, which the Council is in charge of. However there are plenty of individuals and even colonies of each race in the Terminus systems that aren't part of the Citadel group. Also each race has its own government back on its homeworld, essentially making the Council some kind of UN+. Furthermore all known galactic civilization is based on mass relay tech.
So... who are we supposed to kill? The only boundaries drawn here are political and murky at best. So if anything the question is whether the Council itself as a political leader should die. Answer: *shrug* hell if you did it once, you can do it again. Don't particularly care one way or another.

Right... cause the reapers will stop at the arbitrary boundaries of "Citadel space". The reapers don't care who's in charge... they're here to lay waste to *everything*. And considering the Council races are the most powerful species known by humanity, letting them die seems very short sighted when you still have reapers to kill.

By "Citadel Civilization" I mean the conglomerate of species held together by the known part of the mass relay network, regardless of political affiliation.

It is what people usually refer to as "the galaxy", which it isn't. It consists about 10-20000 settled star systems in bubbles of space with mass relays at their centres, spread over the galaxy but comprising only a miniscule part of it. There could be another dozen or two of those civilization clusters in the galaxy with nobody knowing about them.

Yes but "Citadel Civilization" is a misleading label on account of the political divide it denotes. The Terminus systems are also within the known systems and use mass relays but don't have anything to do with the Citadel itself, politically or otherwise. I would suggest "Mass Relay Civilization" or "Mass Effect Civilization" (without meaning the apparent title drop) to refer to all the know systems and races within the game.

Of course thinking about undiscovered intelligent races that aren't using the relays but have mastered say spaceflight to one system or two brings about the question of what happens to them when the Reapers get here.
