I just bought this game over Origin, and after hours of trying to get the game to work I still cannot play it. The start menu comes up but when I click on "play", the game just shuts off and does nothing. It doesn't even try to load. I tried disabling avg but that didn't fix anything.

I've noticed that although we've seen some upsurge in message traffic from new arriving members over the past month across the social forums, the old hands who might offer answers are still very scarce. The last couple of days, even though it's November, and the middle of the week, all message traffic fell way off.
Then I looked up how many messages there are on Bethesda's forums, about Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I wonder if that's where everyone is.
P. S. In the three days since I added that comment, message traffic here on the Social Forums seems to have fallen off some 70-80% of what it had gotten back up to.
