It's amazing to read through the various assumptions, prejudices, half-baked and knee-jerk opinions, willfull ignorance, and outright silliness displayed in this thread.
So, soldier is next to useless, now?

So soldiers are worthless cause all classes get to use any weapon... Only soldiers get the Revenant Light Machine Gun. Which has been my preferred weapon on my soldiers, and since bioware said the weapons we had in ME2 we'll have in ME3, well i'm looking forward to seeing just HOW hardcore i can make my shepards revenant. Use an adrenalin rush with an upgraded revenant....yes please! I'll keep my Inferno, Armor Piercing, Disruptor Ammo, concussive shot and Adrenalin rush, you can have your tech/biotics....i gots a tali/garrus for tech and a liara for biotics thx.
Nope.
Engineers can use the Revenant too. Same with the Widow and the Claymore. And every other class.
I can make my Infiltrator use the Claymore if I so feel like it.
That seems like a cop out since those weapons were class specific weapons in ME2 and couldnt be used by the others. The class specific weapons should have STAYED class specific to give an extra reason to want to play said classes.

They have weight restrictions now, and I think that is a far superior system than to lock certain weapons out just because I happen to play the wrong class.
Same with the Soldier and the SMG. I thought the Locust was better than 80% of the assault rifles at times, but I couldn't use it for some weird reason, seeing how Soldier is supposed to be the master of weapons.

What I don't feel like playing as Soldier, but I really like the Revenant and think it'd go well with my Sentinel?

Adrenaline Rush further increases bullet and melee damage and allows greater battlefield mobility. More versatile than the Vanguard charge. It isn't always safe to charge, but AR always increases survivability.
Time dilation during Storm in class talent improves mobility and increases survivability.
All in all, you have a class nearly as hard to kill as the Vanguard and Sentinel, and the undisputed King/Queen of Bullet Damage.
Soldier is for people who like to shoot guns. Obviously, if you think radiation-induced super powers and hi-tech gadgetry are more fun, Soldier is not the class for you. The Soldier class has never claimed to appeal for those people.

AFAIK they sadly removed the time dilation during storm.

Looks like OP missed the MP beta leak vid that shows the soldiers' set of powers. In my opinion they are bad-ass.
What are the soldier's skillset for multiplayer exactly?

Really? That would just be, ugh...How will I awesomely dodge missiles and Incinerates in slo-mo if AR is on cooldown now, Bioware?!?!?!?!?!?!!!? *shakes fist*
Ah, well, I was planning to respec my Shep into a Sentinel, anyway. I like Soldier, but I like Tech Armor more. Even if it didn't actually DO anything I'd probably still like the aesthetic.
In co-op I'm planning to play as an NPC from my tabletop Mass Effect game, Warden Kuril's younger brother. He'll be a turian Sentinel with a Revenant and won't spend any points on biotic powers.

Glad I am not the only one who found improved sprinting useful.

Ehhh. Would be more fun playing as an engineer that only uses cryo-blast and guns (that are given cryo ammo).
Cue the blizzard of ice-related puns over voice chat.

Also my options to those are:
Assault Rifle: Mattock
Shotgun: Geth
Sniper: M-29 Incisor sniper rifle.
So which one of collector's ship weapons would be a good choice for ME3?

Well, Mattock is bigger damage dealer per bullet, so if you want to breeze through, choose widow and keep Mattock as your AR. Otherwise, I find the Revenant very good. It cuts through armor like butter and it has the largest ammo capacity among all ARs, so even if you are out of bullets on other weapons, you most likely aren't on the Revenant.CptBomBom00 wrote...
FOr multiplayer I will probably use Mattock or Revnant, ok guy's I'm going to do another playthrought from Me1 to ME2 and I need advice when I get to collectors ship, should I choose Revnant,Calymore or Widow<- again, so what you think??????

Oh hell yes. Actually, I was playing the PS3 version just the other day to get that career ready for import, and totally juked like two or three missiles in a row, then completely obliterated the vorcha firing them with a headshot from the Katana with Inferno ammo. It was glorious.

Icey what you did there!
Still, though, I've loved Tech Armor since we first saw screenshots of an Eclipse soldier using it, I love the Revenant machine gun, I love turians, and Warden Kuril is one of my favorite boss fights in ME2. Kanin Kuril is my weapon of choice.
Hopefully I can convince my buddy who'll be playing a krogan Soldier to use Squad Cryo Ammo, at least. My favorite ammo type easily.

its current form is the problem imo thats why i think they should remove the "powers"(ar and ammo powers) and replace them with things like weapon skills.
Which do what? Increase the damage they do with the respective weapon class? How is that any different than what is being offered in Ammo Powers?
You can't bring accuracy based skills back in. ME1 showed how poor of a mechanic that was. You can't make the skills prerequisite to using the weapon. ME1 and ME2 showed how pointless that approach is.
So what would these "weapon skills" do?
Increase headshot damage? Ammo powers now do that.
Increase ammo capacity? Ammo powers do that now, too.
Change the performance of the weapons? Modifications and weapon customization do that now.
as i said in the post you quoted they should remove ar and ammo powers.
they might as well rename the soldier class godmode if they are going to do that to the ammo powers
