I'M LOVING IT!!

I was doing a game trial and decided to purchase it. 20 Bucks. Pretty darn good deal.
Anyway, I am a female warrior and I am about to go off in the woods with Jory, Daveth, and Alistair. I'm not a grey warden yet.

May I have some tips and tricks please?

What do you wish to know? One thing, be sure to get the quest about the mabari (the sick dog) before you leave camp. You're supposed to pick up a plant in the wilds. Do this and you get the dog later in the game. If you want to know anything else let me know, I'll try to answer the best I can. ^^ (oh, wait, a warrior you said...that means you  may already have the dog, if you're human noble.)

Female warrior? Two handed or sword and shield?
If two handed, leave Cunning at 16(for coersion) and boost STR until the end of the game and you should kill almost anything fairly quickly.

Explore the Korcari Wilds thoroughly. You won't get to come back to this area, so take your time and look around; there's a lot of little sidequests you might miss if you rush. Not finishing the Chasind Trail Signs quest, for instance, means missing out on some really good equipment. The darkspawn blood is easy to acquire and you can take your time finding the Grey Warden treaties.

Another tip: purchase backpacks from the armourer in the camp. You can purchase two backpacks from him: he has one in his inventory before you complete the Joining and then another backpack immediately afterwards. Backpacks are rare in this game and are sold at ridiculous prices by other merchants, so make this a priority.

As thats1evildude said, for the first playthrough you should check every corner in every map to not loose a thing ;)
