If you could, would you still be working with Cerberus?

And I think having information from the experiment made public and having the Alliance investigating kind of mitigates any success.

How so? The Alliance can investigate all it wants. What is it going to find? Toombs already killed the other scientists (those Alliance scientists).

If they were working for Cerberus (and they were) then they were no longer Alliance Scientists but traitors just as an American Nuclear Physicist working for Al Queda would be considered a traitor and thus no longer an American (yes working for Terrorists can and does void your citizenship...or at least it can).

What part of "treason" and "working for terrorists" did you miss?

The part where at this point in time Cerberus was part of the Alliance. Therefore they weren't traitors.

The timeline I've read indicates that Cerberus wasn't part of the alliance pretty much ever.  That was Kohuku's mistake (really it was probably the writers of Bioware messing it up).  Cerberus has been a terror group for a very long time (certainly since before Akuze).

Then you didn't read a very good time-line.

Right back at you.  Read the timeline.  Cerberus has been a terrorist/human radical fringe group for decades.

Yes it has.  Read the timeline from ME2.  Kohoku got it wrong (or more to the point Bioware changed the story).

No, nothing proves that Kohoku was wrong. I've also read other things that suggest Bioware didn't change the story.

Spoilers though.

We are given a full timeline for Cerberus in ME2 and that along with the books pretty clearly show that Cerberus has been in business AS a terror/human-survivalist group for decades.  Bioware changed the story.  In short, you're wrong.

Ian...go back and play ME1, listen to Kahoku's and Hackett's comments about Cerberus and it ties to the Alliance....Cerberus had been the Alliance's black Op's arm and only fairly recently went rogue...the Scientists were employee's of the Alliance working on an Alliance tied project....Hackett states this himself....Basically when Toombs and his squad were set up for the Thresher Maw attack Cerberus was still at that point very much a part of the allaince.

Going by Evolution's end, TIM seemed to found it soon after the incident at the temple.

Yes they did.  The current Cerberus timeline (books/ME2) show that Cerberus has been in business as an independant agency for decades.  So you are wrong (this was changed from ME1).

All the timeline indicates is how long they've been around. It indicates nothing about their origin or link to the Alliance.

Well, I am currently running an ME2 game and will check the timeline out...though it's nearly midnight here, so will have to wait until my morning.

Read it here:

http://masseffect.wi...m/wiki/Cerberus

It's very clear that Cerberus was influencing the Alliance but was seperate from it for decades. Yes, this is a lore change from ME1 but is reflected in the current lore (books and games both).

No it is not clear. That is your interpretation (and likely assumption). Nothing confirms that Cerberus was always independent.

Sorry but it is very clear.  Cerberus is independant of the Alliance and has been for decades although it's tendrils grow deep in the Alliance miltitary-industrial infrastructure.

Sorry but you're wrong and you have been wrong for a couple of years now.
