Hello!

Is it possible to complete citadel assignments after completing the main story?

I am playing through ME1 again, and I can't remember how this worked.

After hijacking the Normandy you can't go back to the citadel. After landing on Ilos you can't go do anything but finish the game either.

So there's no opportunity to do any of the assingment at all once you get to the final stages of the game? :/

Correct.

Just as a comment, in ME1 you can't keep playing after you finish the main story. You finish, the credits roll, the end. You can still complete any side quests that don't involve the Citadel after stealing the Normandy.
