Not so much. I want to be, but I’m just not. This game is pretty much on the bottom of the list of games I want to play. More so after hearing about the latest batch of spoilers and especially if the one about Jacob is even remotely true.

Seconded.  The more spoilers I read, the more pants-on-head, count to potato the writing seems.  Especially the Jacob one, holy schneikies!

And I was looking forward to this game, to revisit with old and new "friends".  I still have my CE ordered; if I hear or see more that shakes my faith, it will be downgraded.  If it seems worse than even that, well, I still have ME1 & 2.

Not really that excited, but that's how it usually is for me several months before release, when my "hype" isn't at its highest. Once we start getting into the last few weeks before ME3, that's when I start getting addicted.

I am still incredibly excited! I'm keeping myself spoiler free, but from what I've accidentally stumbled upon I am even more excited. This truly looks like a magnificent game, and I feel it will become my all time favorite game. ME is already my all time favorite series.

When I heard about ME1, it became the main reason I got my first job in order to buy and xbox. I was 15 at the time. And I've been with ME and Shepard ever since, and will be with them until the very end. Few games, or even other media have affected me as deeply as ME.

So, to sum it up, I am still unbearably excited for ME3 :o

I would be, if the Origin dillema was put to rest. Now I cant be coz I on the fence, it would be a tragic outcome if I had to drop out because of the Origin crap.

Le sigh.

It's the spyware curse that EA has placed on all future PC games... There's 2 Origins. The digital end of it which apparently works like steam and the (apparently) mandatory software that you have to install even if you purchase a retail copy. The EULA/TOS allows them to data mine your PC. Origin has everything to do with marketing, game control and spyware but nothing to do with you playing the game.

Overall, yeah, I'd say I'm still excited. But I'm trying to keep that excitement to a mininum, so I don't overhype myself.

apart from the Origin thing and the fact that the game Tells you exactly what to do all the damn time(i have not read the the leaked script), i don't really see reason to not be.

12 weeks, or four months, sounds a lot less painful.

In regerd to the OP, I was very excited for this game, but it's been declining steadily. While I appreciate BW trying to avoid spoiling the game, I just have trouble maintaining interest when no substantive information comes out. Twitter posts aren't doing much of anything for me, but at the same time I don't really care about finding the leaked information either. I don't need to know every little detail, but when major gaming industry events are the only time something wothwhile comes out about the game I can't really keep my interest going.

I'll be playing this game day 1, but I probably won't get hyped until about a month from release. Of course, that's when the juiciest pre-launch info comes out too...hmmmm....

They're the exact same piece of software. But like Steam, they also have a website you can make purchases on.

Exactly, the confusion comes with your sign in account also being an Origin account that works with that software.

Uh?

First of all at least the weapons in ME1 had visible stastics. Yes you'd be correct to say most of the time they didn't account for much as certain weapons were better then others. But hey I did and do actually choose weapons based on those meaningless stats every so often. Shots Before Overheat, Damage, etc. may not have meant much to you but I found myself at times having to choose between dealing more damage or being able to fire more shots. And it never really bothered me there were only four weapons per say.
Most of the time? Whaaat. No, get this out of your mind. It's not most of the time, it's always. Every single weapon in ME1 is the exact same with the previous one, other than the fact, that all three stats change in a positive or negative way. At the same time.
First of all at least the weapons in ME1 had visible stastics.
What do you mean by "at least" exactly? You could have a label saying 'Better' or 'Worse' and it would be the exact same thing. "At least", you have to test all weapons in ME2 to see which one does what better, and even with the DLC, it is debatable if there is a single weapon that is clearly better than all of the others. Definitely not in the stats dept, "at least".
Also the biggest difference between the two games is that ME1 had mods, not just upgrades. I could choose between different types of ammunition and numerous other things to tailor the weapons the way I liked and setup my squadmates to do certain things. Maybe I want my weapon to impact more force to send enemies flying or maybe I wanted to have chemical rounds. Mods in ME1 gave me that kind of control. More choices makes a game deeper as at the very least there's more to experiment with.
You do realize that what you basically said there was "Maybe I want more damage" or maybe "I want more damage, right?"

ME2's upgrades work like any statistical progression system in RPGs, ever. You can only buy them if you have enough resources, and then, they are permanent. And don't even bring up the mods. A semi-permanent mod when you have diverse enemies just means elimination of tactics. Let me guess, you probably hate ammo powers too, yes?
As for Abilities. Look I don't hate ME2's skill trees. They're fine. I don't really see them being any better or worse then ME1. ME1 had more options, and yes some abilities were far more useful then others. And yes the gains were small in ME1, but you at least get to spend points every level up and do something.

but you at least get to spend points every level up and do something.
You aren't even serious anymore, are you?

You first say that "hey, they are not any better or worse" (and yet, you still maintain that ME1 is deeper, huh.), but sure, they were meaningless but I could at least spend some points everytime I leveled up...
In ME2 you may level up but not be able to afford a skill increase. I'd rather do something every level then save up for a new superpower as then I'm not wasting time at the level up screen. Also can you honestly tell me you don't notice the difference between 1 Point in Biotic Throw to the Max in ME1? I sure did. Sure the process is more gradual, but what's wrong with that?

Granted I do like ME2's choice of Powers when you reach the end of a Skill Tree. Although I consider Ammo Powers a very lame excuse for Powers as they really should have been Mods. (You could just restrict Mods on a basis of a class and achieve the same rseults.)
Haha, I knew it!
No, you wouldn't get the same results, have you played the game?

Not only do different ammo types have different effects to different enemies (sounds similar, yes?), you can actually switch the type depending on the creature that you will meet. Now, that doesn't sound very similar.

Even if ammo types didn't do that, they have do have different effects on the different levels of protection. And guess what. Yes, you can still switch ammo powers.
ME2 is as whole much more restrictive. In some cases this was good.
[citation needed]
And in some cases this was bad. I'm glad I don't have to scroll through Leveled Items (I-X) like in ME1. But it was disappointing that vitrually all customization with weapons was lost and that Squadmates don't even use armor anymore.
Yeah, ME1's system for armour would work so well with the squadmates of ME2, wouldn't it?
But it was disappointing that vitrually all customization with weapons
As I said, it sounds very impressive when you use the words "virtually", "customization" and "disappointing", but that doesn't help when those are just big words with little argument behind them. Calling weapon management in ME1 customization is headdesk worthy.
I do appreciate the distinct weapons in ME2. But don't tell me that the Mantis is superior to the Widow
Sure, you want some stats to back that up?
and that ME1 was crap simply because Spectre Weapons outclassed the normal weapons. ME2's gameplay is decent, but it is far from perfect. In many ways it's just as flawed as ME1 was. So no I do not consider ME2 the pinacle of perfection.
No, ME1 was crap because it offered no choice in weapon management and it was the most imbalanced game BioWare had released in years.
I don't play the Mass Effect games on the PC. So I'm at a loss as to what function the spacebar has. Pausing I assume?
Skipping dialogue.
I don't even play that many RPGs. So it's funny that I'm labeled an RPG Elitist simply cause I like a little complexity in games. I have never played a turn based RPG or anything of the like. (I never played Final Fantasy or any other pure grinding RPGs.) Unless you want to count Baldur's Gate and KOTOR, though both those games have real-time combat. But apparently liking Customization and Inventory makes me an RPG Elitist even though just about every damn game these days features that sort of stuff and does well as a result.

I don't even know why you're having a go at me Phaedon.
Did I call you an RPG Elitist? I have called a lot of people that, and I consider even myself a bigger elitist than you could have potentially been. And I don't have anything against you as a person or a poster, either.

The reason that I am having a go at you is because of what you used in that post of yours, big words that carry no weight. Which apparently, are a-okay as long as they are in support of ME1 in these boards. If my rant/attack made you realize that even in the slightest, then it was worth it.

I am. I cant believe it but I actually am.
Usually sequels don't really go down well with me, there's always one thing that disappoints me and ruins the game for me. (*e.g. assassins creed revelations when they COMPLETELY CHANGED EVERYTHING RECOGNIZABLE about the MAIN CHARACTERS faces*) but im actually excited and trust that ME3 will be ok, really
The only doubt I had was Clint Mansell as composer, but after watching the demo, Im just counting down the days
I wasnt even bothered about multiplayer, which is weird. Normally I'd be pissed if a single-player game introduced multiplayer. But I was actually pretty happy straight away when they announced it, because its not like some COD multiplayer.

I was really hyped with the CE trailer, and then I found out the remaining squadmates from the script, and my hyped dropped so damn fast.

Edit; And now I find out about Beattie. Lovely.
