Good luck with that. I'm guessing you'll be handling To-Hit rolls by trying to punch your DM in the face? Because that's about all you can do to translate a Shooter into an RPG, since Shooters like ME2 lack any kind of Character based skill.

While I will agree that Bioware has deep stories I love the ones Bethesda does as well.ODST 3 wrote...

I am looking forward to the game but the grind of waiting might come back if Bethesda doesnt release a patch for Skyrim soon.
A couple of patches have already been released, but as with all Bethesda games it'll be about a year before the thing is playable.

Just glad that I will be able to spend some time in Skyrim and SWTOR while waiting for march. Will probably take one more swing with DAII as well. Keeping a nice stack of games around makes life better and the waiting less like... waiting.

Thing is I bought Mass Effect 2 without hesitation and was only really disappointed by the story that just seemed like a galactic version of the magnifficent seven and rather pointless as you could have filled the Normandy up with mercs from Omega and headed straight into the relay once you found the IFF, making the whole plot about 3 missions and the rest side quests.
The thing with sequels is they have a lot to live up to and horror sequels don't really seem to work as once you know who the baddie is the thrill is gone. This is what you have now with Mass Effect. Will it just be a chase the Reapers around the galaxy in different locations depending on your squadmate at the time ? Will your squadmates from Mass Effect 2 really matter too because they could all be dead ? Who will die this time just to add a bit of drama ? I hope my fears are all wrong but I can't help but feel the addition of multiplayer might have been done to give it a longer lifespan and to add to something that is really quite mundane.
Don't get me wrong I hope Mass Effect 3 is the best game I've ever played and not just something flashy to make up for lack of substance. So I'll be waiting for the reviews before I buy it and if they come out bad or mediocre then my Shepherds will just wait until I find it in some bargain bucket. Hopefully by that time too there'll be a way of playing it on my PC without installing Origin as that's just not going to happen either.

They know the stakes are high for this one, so I am pretty confident they can do it.
There are always going to be ppl that love a game and those will hate it or dislike it.
When ME2 came out I was like what the f&#k what happen to my rpg elements , but the game was still great . . . The game play was great jusy lack the epic feel of ME, but I can't wait.
The only time BW has let me down was with DA2 the epic feel from DA1 was gone but other than that BW always seems to pull it through for me

Excited ? Not really more interested to see if Bioware can pull it off.

Dosen't Shep, Garrus and 2 others themselves take out the canon fodder called mercs of omega. Do you really want them against the tools of the Reapers.
Thats the only point I want to refute. Your opinion is your own and heres to seeing ME3 as the best game yet.

Whats going on? Why shouldn't fans of the series be excited?
An incomplete script was leaked from an incomplete leaked beta, pre-release mind you, and somehow a nostrdamus power allows certain "fans" to see into the future, many "fans" are sad and upset at what they read.
Also they have DA2 to always bring up, and EA, and some kind of direction of Bioware is taking......and railroading, cause ME1 never did that.<_<
(Mostly this was a rant)

It appears to me that most of the complaints here have to do with railroading and lack of choice impact. Railroading to an extreme is an issue, but I think ME fans have developed an unrealistic expectation for the series when it comes to the freedom of player choice. ME and ME2 both did alot of railroading.
Lack of choice impact is a slightly more understandable complaint. While I don't know the extent to which the changes don't matter, I have to say if the rumors are true than this is simply a case of Bioware over promising. While it would great for everyone to have a completely different ME3 than their neighbor, at this point in time its pretty much a financial impossibility. But who knows, we have yet to see the final product.
I'm still excited. Little skeptical and lowering my expectations a bit, but still very much excited.
