Absolutely. The original Mass Effect caught a lot of people by suprise, and it has snow balled to the monster it is now. I'm looking forward to completely the journey as Commander Shepard, and seeing what the end product will be like. This will be a real test for Bioware.

I would be if it wasn't for Day 1 DLC. As it is, I'm controlling my enthusiasm so I can make the rational decision and buy the game when it gets cheaper.

I'm still excited.
Since March 9th is a Friday...if my "Express" delivery from Gamestop won't arrive in time I'll have a Mass Effect 3-less weekend

I have avoided the leaked script so I don't know if I'm completely right on this or not.
It appears to me that most of the complaints here have to do with railroading and lack of choice impact. Railroading to an extreme is an issue, but I think ME fans have developed an unrealistic expectation for the series when it comes to the freedom of player choice. ME and ME2 both did alot of railroading.
Which is why I don't understand the complaining at all. I do know what RR & SH are, but when one writes a story of any kind, isn't that stuff already in there? If there was total free-reign, the games would be a complete mess!
Everyone talks about how wonderful an open world game is, but if you think about it, open-world is akin to just running around aimlessly without a care in the world - which is why I understand the "timed missions" in ME3. If they didn't put more emphasis on the story in the first two games (not "timed" stuff), then that is exactly what we'd be doing and most know how pointless that is - especially if you're spectating.
Back to the railroading issue:
Railroading happens because of what you said, but again, apparently, folks want a mess; yet, complain when there is one. IOW, you got your freedom, but you still aren't happy? I can understand wanting to go from A-Z instead of A-B, but in this series' case, it has to end somewhere. Structure or discordance? As touted as the "Make a choice, suffer the consequence" has been, there's got to be some RR & SH in there somewhere.
If you think abput it, the character's philosophies are railroaded - in every kinda of lit or media, but it seems to be more accepted in those mediums. Why is this? It's still a structured story with a beginning, middle and end, but even with that some have unrealistic preconceived notions which cloud their reasoning.
Having Shepad work with "the enemy" (Cerberus) is no different, than the good guy posing as a friend to the bad guy where one of two things happen: The good guy succeeds or the bad guy figures it out, but continues to play along or vice-versa! (Kinda like TIM, but we had the preconceived notion that he was bad anyway. Responding in kind of course when we (Shepard) figured it out!)
EDIT: I am excited - just not the "Woohoo! It's Christmas!" kind of excited!

Not excited. Trying not to get my hopes up. Trying to convince myself that the storytelling from the first two games hasnt suffered... but then I saw the demo, I know about the latest novel and the debacle over the prothean being essential to lore or not...
Im very weary. Very... very weary.

I have been excited for this game for a very long time, and no matter what, I'm optimistic about everything. The multiplayer is fun, the single player is looking great. <3
My FemShep is going to kick some major ass.
