Seriously, there is a lack of asian people.

China's having its own issues, with the dictatorship losing control slowly but steadily. There's trouble of its own on the way.

I think there was some kind of immigration backlash that stalled their growth for some time... either that or an economic boom in their home countries that created less motivation to immigrate.

No. Thanks to China's crappy gov't, they won't become this economic superpower that everyone thought they would. A lot of Chinese businesspeople are actually coming to America.

Lemme say it this way: china might have a crappy gov. But they have a gov.
Europe? Failing.
USA? Failing.

Not offending anyone, but we're seeing nightfall of days of western world. Thanks to criminals in banks & exchanges. And our leaders are supporting those criminal subjects. That's how I can see it, as European.

Sorry for rant. I'm just concerned we sold out democracy for cutthroats in fine attire.

Let's stop trying to achieve a laissez-faire economy. That's a pipe dream.  Regulate harder! In the meantime I'd like the US and EU to start raising tariffs on China and for the US gov't to start giving American  corporations tax incentives for hiring Americans.

Not at the rate they're going. At this rate it's only the wealthy people getting wealthier there, despite officially being a communist country, there are strong signs of capitalism there The factory owners and other 'bosses' are getting the money in China. The majority of Chinese people are still factory workers, working for next to nothing but doing so anyway because the alternative is unemployment. They barely have enough to sustain their family. - All a consequence of our (the western world's) desire to get our products for less money btw - They're not going to get rich this way.

It's true. Sad thing is, this has been going on for decades but it remained well hidden. As long as the general public wasn't affected by it, nobody bothered to even investigate. 2 years ago, banks, thanks to their irresponsible behaviour, had to be saved by pumping in vast amounts of taxpayer money. Now it appears the governments have been doing the same thing all along.... Faith in humanity takes another hit as it becomes clear there are way too many greedy bastards around.

Exactly.

That doesn't fit here, but I have a dream. Capitalism that works - by making essential stuff like food & shelter affordable for everyone while luxury goods should be far more expensive. So you still have to work if you want luxury stuff.

Whatever. And yeah, I hate socialism. I was born and had to live in GDR for 8 years ...
I also hate to need TWO jobs for ONE f*cking life. Jesus ... I need my free time. Working all day makes me sad. 8 hours per day / 5 days a week should be enough.

They seem to do pretty good with the current system though Tali admitted her lifestyle was still definitely better than the average Quarian's.  Of course, Quarian lifestyle is more about surviing and continuing to get to the next day rather than getting rich to buy that fancy new ship they've been wanting.  Their way of life seems to be preferrable for the current situation that they live in basically.

It is the future and we don't know what happens between then and now. Perhaps an ugly race war. Or a disease that may have afflicted a cetain part of the population. Or maybe, and I'm just throwing this out there, ethnicity is not a big deal in the future, and we all become part of the human race and stop focusing on that stuff. So can we use what happens to Jacob in ME3 to make our case on the issue of Race Issue? Although really that is unrelated to this topic. Its an american company no surprise there is what is probably a disproportionate amount of white people in the game still they could set a randomizer of some sort for the background characters. Still I suppose non Party character wise, minorities and females get good rep in human leadership circles.

Actually if you think about it, Humans are always taking heat from other alien races because they are a minority relative to every other race. When you think "minorities" in Mass Effect, you don't just think of a single race within the Human populace, you think of the entire species. Humans are united in ME, so there's no reason to get worked up over how many whites and blacks there are in the game, we assume that racism has been overcome in the game as their new focus is colonizing new worlds. Cerberus also supports this theory through the game as their focus is to bring the Human race to a greater power. Never does the illusive man ever mention bringing "white power" to the galaxy, he always mentions how Humans are often mistreated opressed.

Hmm I more worried about what happens after we beat the threat. Assuming the reapers don't spread that pain around equitably it could end with some species at a serious disadvantage and others getting the upperhand.

Not a surprise, Humans love to play as a good underdog well at least when we are playing the heroes now as the badguys its a different matter. Although I expect a time jump at least 10 years probably more.
