"In the year 2148, explorers on Mars discovered the remains of an ancient spacefaring civilization. In the decades that followed, these mysterious artifacts revealed startling new technologies, enabling travel to the furthest stars. The basis for this incredible technology was a force that controlled the very fabric of space and time.
They called it the greatest discovery in human history.
The civilizations of the galaxy call it... MASS EFFECT."

Didn't Casey say that Mass effect was planned to be a trilogy?

Background is irrelevant. You're always the "only" kind of person who can protect the galaxy.

Unless you are a warhero, then you're "the best hero they got"didymos1120 wrote...

Opening scene of ME1 where Shepard did the cool walk and the cheesy determined face as the camera panned around.
YUP. THIS IS SOME GOOD SH*T RIGHT HERE.
This
And the ending sequence of missions; Virmire to Ilos to the Final Confrontation to M4 Part II(credits).
I knew I had to go back and replay it... dozens of times.

He always romances Liara. Until then I was replaying Supernintendo games or the Fable series. But the idea of playing a female and haveing a romance in space was so Babylon 5 that I had to try.
IT WAS AWESOME!

Oh yeah. I forgot about that.

Opening sequence, cool walk
Spectre inauguration
Sovereign conversation: "You are not Saren"
Vigil conversation: "My name is Vigil. You are safe here for the moment. But that is likely to change. Soon, nowhere will be safe."
End credits: m4 part II
All great goosebumps moments.
Damn, you just made me want to play ME1 again ...

Honestly, all of my most amazing moments of the ME series correspond with amazing music; the entirety of the opening cinematic in ME1, the citadel reveal, "Commander Shepard, step forward," Sovereign (to be fair, it was his voice more than the music) and Vigil conversations, the climax.
That music and their accompanying epic sequences are the only reasons I play ME1 anymore.

Same here.
Had hesitantly bought the game on a sale and went into it with a sceptical mindset -- that scroller made me an instant convert.
Alas, for me ME2 lost some of the "feel" that those lines invoked.

.."I want you to try." and then he became a party member. I wondered how much better could it get? Then Wrex gave me the first taste of biotics, oh lawd.
Every single track in ME1 has gotten every other OST beat for me. (Yeah a lot would easily disagree? but IDC)
The Feros theme song really has a chilling feel to it.
I was hooked right from the get, but I feel like pointing out more of my favorite moments anyway ^.^
1. "Our numbers will darken the sky of every world." O.O
2. Captain Kirrahe <3333 The speech of course, and the soundtrack along with working with a STG unit. It feels so intense with him on the radio all mission.
3. Seeing Sovereign obliberating ships with each one of his pointers...and seeing it charge in with Geth ships...really makes me cream my pants thinking of ME3 (Which, I am going in blind as possible)
Everything reached a whole new level, once I started reading the Codex and the novels.
Yeah.. ultimately the first 2 moments where The opening scene and that Wrex line that sealed it though.

When the alarm went off in the morning for me to go to work. I was so immersed in the ME world that I had completely lost track of time and played all night.
I had that happen with books but never with a video game.
Wow. Now that's Immersive

Also, when I first put in ME2 and imported my first femshep and the Normandy blew up. I just sat there stunned because I did not know that they were going to kill off Shepard. Plus I was thinking WTH!

I never saw any of the trailers. I hadn't even heard of Mass Effect. I probably wouldn't have if it wasn't for a friend. He kept telling me to buy it. He thought it was my kind of game. I was more stoked for Assassin's Creed.BNPunish wrote...

I got both games. Guess which one I took back and which one is my Religion?
A have a ton of favorite moments, but Mass Effect is Special to me as it is to others as well. It's a Universe I could get lost in. It's a Universe I don't want to see fade away, but I digress.
I'm just glad I got friends who look out for me.
