P.S.: I was also alarmed to the amount of background information the game was starting, peaking at the discussion with Nihlus. I had no idea of what's to come.
At What Moment it the Mass Effect Series did you know that ME was something Special?

ME1 was ok but ME2 is one of the greatest games i've played on the Xbox 360.

There aren't many truly breathtaking moments in video gaming. That was one of them.
EDIT: Also, the Codex. Shows just how much work the writers put into the setting and really helps to establish the game not just as a reconstruction of the space opera, but also as a relatively hard piece of military sci-fi.

Seriously though, I love the ambient conversations between characters... I think that's what first sold me on the series. Although, I'm hoping in ME3 they integrate more of it since ME2 was sadly lacking IMO. I'm pro at derailing threads, so I'll just stop there.

This. And if it wasn't for Skyrim and FFXIII I'd say that with ease. But it was ME2 that really got me to love the ME series. ME1 was great and all, but I was annoyed by the gameplay a lot and it was over shadowed for me cause it came out the same year as Halo 3. But ME2 is one of the best games I've ever played. The characters, story, and even the game mechanics. The whole game sucked me in, even after beating it six times I still can't bring myself to skip the dialogue cause I still get drawn in to the game.

(2) Sovereign and Saren dialogue on Virmire
(3) Noveria -- was awesome all around
*Honorable mention* Credits with M4 Faunts(that was like the perfect ending music)
Those were my most memorable/wow moments.

He'll take his revenge on you in ME3 I'm sure.
He's dead in Firewalker DLC.
It was one of the more disappointing moments finding out that Manuel was dead in such a anticlimatic way.
As for my "moment." Either when I became a Spectre in ME1 or when Saren realized what he had done and blew his brains out to stop it. That was a literal "Oh, snap!" moment for me. ME2...not so much. "A giant terminator? Really?"
EDIT: I want more Faunts.

Because he had such a substantial, nuanced character arc that clearly deserved an epic ending?

I dunno, he seemed like a pretty stock, superfluous charcter to me.didymos1120 wrote...

Yeah, that kind of sucked, he was one of the more interesting characters.

I got to agree, i mean i only talked to him for a minute out of the 40+ hours i spent playing the game. He wasn't exactly important, at the most he foreshadows something was wrong on Eden Prime (other than the obvious geth invasion)

I've told you many times not to alter my posts like that. And still you don't listen. If you think I've changed my mind, I haven't: every single time you pull this crap, I report it.
