That theory works as well.
Wait - in case of SM in ME2, there's no "plot sniper". I'd call it the "plot minigun". Or "nuclear device"
I believe only the VS suffers a "plot sniper". At least BW tries hard to dislike the VS: half of the fandom thinks Kaidan is just boring and whines all day and Ashley - hmmm - ranks from "zealot" to "racist". Horizon doesn't help either to like the VS and I bet ME3 won't treat the VS nicely as well ... so yeah, the "plot sniper" is the "player who hates the VS".

Liara and Anders are the same character! Both are in love with Shepard and Hawke no matter what you do as the player. You can reject tham but they NEVER JUST GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

Well, your name sort of says it all. Liara and Anders are not the same character. Along the same frame of logic you're using in the subsequent sentence, every clingy boyfriend/girlfriend in existence is Liara or Anders. There's a bunch of feathery, frumpy mages and nerdy tentacle-headed aliens walking around the planet as we speak.
...oh Dear lord.
...If you're going to start a discussion regarding Mass Effect or Dragon Age Characters, please try to add a little more than what is being presented in the OP. That is assuming, of course, this entire thread doesn't get locked due to possible trolling, or simply being silly.
Have a Nice Day.

Nope, I missed that one ... <_<
Lets hope I can save Ashley in my playthrough. If it takes some other characters life ... I did it before. And Kaidan wasn't easy to sacrifice.

1. Every female character out side of Miranda has the damsel in distress syndrome.Aurora313 wrote...
Liara is the one thing I disliked about the Mass Effect series. She's the typical alien damsel in distress. And Shepard has to go all Captain Kirk as save her ass from a big bad krogan.... *facepalm*
I'm sorry, but if I didn't 'need' her to help figure out the visions. I would never have recruited her. That being said, it was nice of her to take my body to Cerberus were I was forced to act as the Illusive Man's right hand. Thanks Liara, just thanks. 'Couldn't let me go?' So what are you going to do when Shepard dies from natural causes? Clone him and stick his brain into a new body?
I don't even romance the Asari because She comes off as a typically helpless mary sue to me. Kaidan and Ashley are very well thought out characters that actually allow me to invest emotionally in the game and made me feel sorry for the one I had to leave behind on Virmire. Hell, I cried a bit. I still do. Liara on the other hand, I feel isn't worth the time, attention and hype she's getting.
... sorry. Needed to get that off my chest.
2. She really changed from ME1 to ME2, Just that her crazy is showing more.
3. Nothing about the character is a mary sue. She is far from being miss perfect of made to be over preferred.

In the core of the character they are simular. Intense love for the main character no matter what, strong burdens driving the character nearly to madness, intense rage at the antagonist of their goal, casters...The only difference is Anders is a terrorist, Liara did not have to be one to get to her goals.Xilizhra wrote...

Xili - yes, its olot armor if she's not available to die through the plot. its kind of a definition of plot armor.
I like Liara despite bioware doing everything in their power to turn her into The Westley (but then again, I also liked the actual Westley). and I don't think she has much in comon with Anders other then the feelings that won't go away. but I understand why other people would dislike her or the attention she gets from developers. she's not the only teacher's pet, but she's quite possibly the biggest one.
P.S. Liara does the "oh I'm exausted" act every single time she does the meld. not just when you just get her. every single time. even after she's been on a ship for a while and had plenty of chances to eat and get some rest and get evaluated by Dr Chakwas.

Yeah, that's kind of a huge difference at the end.In the core of the character they are simular. No one's trying to turn her into a Wesley, she's just the one who happens to be unable to die. I don't think this was decided when ME1 came out, Virmire was just between those characters with similar roles. And then they came up with the (stupid) SM idea separately.I like Liara despite bioware doing everything in their power to turn her into The Westley (but then again, I also liked the actual Westley). and I don't think she has much in comon with Anders other then the feelings that won't go away. but I understand why other people would dislike her or the attention she gets from developers. she's not the only teacher's pet, but she's quite possibly the biggest one.

no, more like Leliana I would say. Morrigan comes close but not quite there. and they not only let you kill off Anders (who only first showed up in Awakenings and could be killed off even there), they set it up in such a way that it feels like the right thing to do, regadless of whether you like him or not.

2. The comics were the start of her becoming an interesting character.
3. It would be out of character if the VS help cerberus being that they are Alliance loylist.
4.She is not miss perfect ormade more important then she is.Fromthe start she has the intelligents and drive to do anything, she just not a people person at first. Noe it's better and a little worse but she is out of her shell.

And I still think the Devs tried so hard to make Liara interesting they broke her.
That's my imagination and only ME3 can change this - have no idea how, but lets say Liara shouldn't be too present. At least not more than the VS or Garrus, Tali and Joker - the "old gang".
