 Hey I am almost through my second playthrough of Mass Effect 1. In the start i wanted to romance Liara but later on came to change my decision. This happens right before the vermire mission. In this point ashley first starts to talk about me constantly talking to liara and then she starts talking about her grandfather. I constantly pick the top dialogue option and in the end she asks me. "So you are still interested in me bagage and all?" Is this a good sign does this mean that i can still romance her from this point onwards?

Ash will mention you "constantly" talking to Liara even if you just talk to her once. If you have been chatting up Liara as well, then it will result in them both coming to your cabin and forcing you to chose one.

That is in the Ashley romance path.

There are two ways to sabotage the relationship with Ashley while talking to Liara. The first is when Liara asks you about Ash... if you don't pick "Ash is special" then you have terminated the Ash romance (bc after your conversation the first thing Liara does is run to Ash apparently). The other thing is that if you play enough side missions before the confrontation scene you can unlock Liara's dialogue about Asari reproduction... entering that conversation with Liara will lock her in as the LI and terminate the Ash relationship as well.

As far as other things, when Ash asks "Surprised to see you here... I thought you'd be chatting up what's her name?" or whatever it is along those lines, I know for a fact that you can choose either the paragon or the renegade response and still romance Ash.  People used to say that you had to pick the renegade response, but that is not the case.

Thanks for clearing this up. I've been wondering how I ended up romancing Liara, even though I told her off.

I hate Mass Effect 1 romances. They are like mine fields, only more subtle and gruesome.

Ehh? I didn't choose the Ash is special line and I got the confrontation...the romance didn't terminate?

I guess if you choose the Renegade line (something along the line of "Not your business!" I think), when Liara asks about Ashley&Shepard relations, it also doesn't break the Ashley romance.
