Hi all! :)

After having played ME1 and ME2 on PC, I am currently considering buying ME2 for my newly bought PS3, because I would like to play online coop in ME3 with my friends.
Reading through all these (savegame) related troubles for ME on the PS3, I am starting to worry that this may happen to me as well. I would really appreciate it if someone from the community could answer my questions :)

First: On what Playstations do the crashes and bugs usually / mostly occur?
Are the old (phat model) playstations affected, or newer (slim) models as well? In case you were wondering, my own system has come fresh out of the store, within the shiny box of a 320Gb Uncharted 3 bundle.

Second: What kind of savegame corruption are we talking about?
Are the newest savegames deleted and are only older saves available? Or: are all saves deleted and do you have to start the game all over again?

Third: How can these bugs be prevented or solved?

As a last, maybe not relevant question (?), I would like to know if it's even worth to start ME2 over on the PS3, just because I really want to play online coop with my friends on PSN. How thorough is the interactive comic at the beginning? Are sidequests covered in this comic as well? Such as Helena Blake, how does she end up in ME2? Will I still get the message that the keepers are genetically modifed? Will I still be approached by the asari from Feros, who has become green? etc. If these questions should be moved over to another forum, please let me know!

thanks in advance, I am looking forward to reading your replies :)

Shiala, Conrad Verner, the salarian team on Virmire, Doc Rana on Virmire, personal missions(Garrus, Wrex) and SEVERAL others were cut on the PS3 version.
I would suggest you stick with the PC version or Xbox if you have one.

Aw, that sucks.. But will it then be possible to play ME3 coop between the multiple platforms? That's because I do not know anybody who will play ME3 on PC and my friends that do play the series play it on their Playstations..

Also, I did find a retailer that sells ME2 for the PS3 for only 15 EUR, so I think I'll just give it a try.

Do you know perhaps if the ME3 demo that will be released also features a multiplayer demo? In that case I'll try out coop with my PSN friends and see what it's like. Then I could decide whether to buy the collector's edition of the final installment in the series for my trusty Windows saves or my newer PS3 character.

And maybe you know some details about the savegame issues? I'm still out in the dark on that one :)

Thanks a lot in advance! :D

Data corruption is still a problem with PS3 version. Stick with PC version. 11 hours of game play just to find out its all in vein.

I know nothing of data corruption but I recently started a new game up on my new 320Gb slim and there are audio synch problems everywhere. This is a situation that has been made 10x worse with the last patch they released.

This is also a problem that Bioware refuses to make any effort to fix whatsoever.

Avoid the PS3 version like the plague. Or see if you luck out and aren't affected by these problems.

I actually got a save game completed in over 43 hours with out a single error or corrupt save file, except for one time where my PS3 froze.

I have played a couple of playthroughs on the original (40GB) PS3 and now two playtroughs on the new slim system (because the original broke). But I never experienced any savegame corruption errors on either of those systems. The new slim system does have a lot of audio sync problems that the original PS3 did not have. Don’t know if it has to do with the PS3 or with the latest ME patch.
