Why would you read spoilers? thats probably the cause of the disapointment, your own eagerness. I don't understand the disappiont either but then again most of the moaners are going to buy it anyway, pinch of salt people.

My cancelled ME3 CE begs to differ.

Based on Bioware's handling of the previous two games and the DA series...... lol, no.

There's no mass disappointment, the nature of a forum simply attracts a vocal (and angry) minority.

One could make a good argument that the basis for actually placing a pre-order, on any game, is flimsy at best.

I actually pre-ordered online(with Amazon) because it didn't seem like best buy was going to have the PC CE in their brick and mortar stores since it wasn't even listed on their site.

But yeah, there's not much reason to pre-order and I practically never do it unless it's for some pre-order bonus or for some very nichey game like the YS series.

Tell that to the Dragon Age 2 forums.

A good proportion of the people who are happy with DA2 are those who wanted a homosexual-friendly dating sim.

Retailer pre-order bonuses.

The lack thereof around my area, combined with lack of great economic flexibility is why I never pre-order games.

I'm not sure what you're trying to saying.

...how?

S/he flat out suggests that reading leaks without the proper context is a bad idea.

His edit is more clear in what he believes. The original post was not.

...aren't going to be much of a consolation if the game turns out to be crap. I'm talking general case here, not specifically ME3.

I don't quite understand the point of this topic either.

The OP doesn't understand why people are drinking so much Haterade, because even from the tutorial that was leaked, they had a breath-taking moment, and assume the rest of the game will be just as good because Bioware constantly makes you CARE about your games and what happens therein.

I thought it was fairly straight forward, tbh.

Nice summary, but yeah i dont think it was that straight-foward. And to be honest, after thinking it over, people can enjoy games for whatever.

It is just surprising, that people have latched on to gameplay or overall (book) narrative, as both have so far been servisible at best. Not outstanding by any means. (ME, Bioware in general) The sudden dissappointment is a curious thing.

That's a good point. Playing through both games i enjoyed them immensley. It was only while reflecting on them afterwards that ME2s shaky plot began to annoy me. Although if i had of played ME1 first i might of noticed it straight away.

Just watch the Normandy take-off at the Ending of the Tutorial. :crying:That thing has more emotion riding on it, than the entirety of ME1 + ME2. If i had to simgle out, ONE REASON, why ive been buying Bioware games for 10 years, its that they are the only one,s that make me care.

Its not even just the immersion factor, as it is those moments where you feel short of breath, your head is spinnig and your chest is about to fall off, because something incredibly heavy has happened. I honestly dont  see how expiriences like that can dissapoint, regardless of other shortcommings.(like ME2's shooty corridors and minor lack of RPGM)

i saw only from the original stuff posted (E3 demo) didn't watch any leaked items....but hell, i teared up in ME2 when I got to see my first ME1 squad member, just made me feel better....

Some people are stupid. Bottom line. Instead of waiting to see what the ACTUAL product is going to be they jump to conclusions out of fear/anger at Bioware's past mistakes. Me? Not disappointed much at all. I'm still going to wait until the ACTUAL and FINISHED product comes out before making any judgements. I have already said on several occations that there are enough inconsistencies between the "leaked" script and what has been shown/confirmed by devs via interviews and game conventions for me to NOT put much faith into the leak. In short, it's wiser to just wait and see. I'm keeping my CE preorder, and this incident should prove a valuable lesson for Bioware to keep tighter reigns on their materials and not let this testament to carelessness and stupidity repeat itself.

Not really. You can easily cancel your preorder at anytime so it really isn't much of a problem at all.

He even calls the first Mass Effect a bad game. I thought the rpg purist loved that game.

I usually consider it beneath me to gloat, but the current amount of Cerberus fanwangst has me rolling in delicious, delicious schadenfreude. Not because I hate Cerberus (TIM's one of the best characters in the series) or because I like what the plot's done to them (it definitely could have been handled better and I'm mostly "meh" about it), but because there are a few individuals here that have, from time to time, made my experience on the ol' BSN less than pleasant.

I suppose it's the equivalent of cackling as you watch that one guy who called you fat drop his wallet into a pile of dog poo, but nonetheless, neener neener neener.

Comment on my hypocrisy and lapse in good character all you will, but I'm allowed to be petty and immature every once in a while.

Here are a few reasons for unrest regarding Mass Effect 3 on these boards.

1. Many gamers were unsatisfied with Dragon Age 2 and are worried about what direction Bioware will be taking with this game.
2. Some are worried that the multiplayer aspects will divert too much of Bioware's capital for them to properly finish the single player portions. These fears have been compounded by rumors that the whole game can be stored on one dvd disc, which would imply that the entire singleplayer campaign consists of less data than ME1.
3. Some people read an outdated script for the game and didn't like some of the plot details.
4. Frankly, some of the things we've been hearing about Origin from gaming news sites are scary as hell.
5. Some of us a worried that Bioware may or may not have ripped off Ashley's new costume design from Metroid.

Again, all of these matters are subject to change, and we do not necessarily need to worry about any of these things until the reviews are out, but the internet does tend to be a bit panicy.
