I am sure most of you have come across the leaked details. So are you happy with the content given to each character?
Note : Please try to keep spoilers to a minimum and if you have to give a spoiler, give spoiler warning before you do.^_^

Yes, in regards to characters, I am satisfied. My favourites are all permanent squadmates with fairly large roles, which is good.

Not really...the "core" squad doesn't make me happy.

very unhappy. it seems like new characters get the best of it and old characters are a very mixed bag. and my favorites are apparently bioware's favorite chew toys

I'm pissed off from content about each character and, especially, main plot. If no major changes announced in nearby monts, I'm not buying game.

Edit: this based on latest leak, which is supposed to be newer than initial one.

Same here.
Some of the more annoying thing is that some decisions seems that didn't really matter.

Not only there is blatant paragon favoritism, but often there is basically no choice distinction at all.

Essentially:

You did choice 1: Result 1 happens.
You did choice 2: Result 1 happens.

I agree that from what we've seen this is somewhat true, but FYI, this thread is about characters, not the leaks in general.

It's all cool. Some surprises, some "yes!" some "meh," but in general I'm happy.

Of course, thanks.

On topic: Some character developments seem sort of interesting, but there are quite a few relationships that seem to be taken from some bad fanfiction. Literally.

Dunno if there are "permanent" squadmates, but from what I've seen so far there's at least a chance some of them won't be with you till end / for a certain portion of the game. I don't name any of them, of course.

To make it easy: NONE of the ME2 squadmates can be considered as "permanent" since none of them is part of Shepard's squad for the entire length of the game with exception of Jacob and Miranda. All of them could die in the SM and since you can continue the game after SM if Shepard survives, no squadmate is truly permament.
I guess something similar can be said about ME3.

My fav squadmate will play a big role - at least there must be a reason why the VS got "plot armor" in ME2. I would be disappointed if the VS role is reduced to another tiny cameo like in ME2.

The lines I've red so far point to... let's just say underwhelming results.

Which is pity, I kinda like both VS.

I am really not sure what they ment by "no one is permanent." According to the leak so characters have insanely high ammount of content. Hell some squaddies like tali seems to have more content in ME3 than both other games combined.

When I use the term "permanent squadmate", I mean that they can join your squad, and remain in it throughout the rest of the game unless they are killed. From what I have read in the spoilers, these criteria seem to apply to the characters to whom I was referring.

Still happy despite immersing myself in the spoilers/leaks. I'm not as emotionally attached to the characters or crazy about romances like some freaks here, so its difficult for me to be extremely disappointed (to the point where I'd threaten to emo cancel my purchase).

I actually sat through the whole of Jonah Hex....

Dunno. I read the "early draft" too and it was okay for me. Some drama but nothing too awful. Besides that, the "draft" of the main story covers only 25% of the entire game. 75% of the game are assignments (side quests), exploration, dialogue and romantic story arc. So ... I don't give a "Vorcha's ass" for the so called spoilers.

I refuse to read any spoilers regarding the finale (never read it) or the romance arcs since I want to get surprised by emotion and such. That's also something that REALLY would spoil me if reading it by accident.

Ah okay. Hmm, yeah, but if you're referring to the same characters like I think you would, they'll have less influence on the story than the ones who can die at some point.

'nuff said

No, appalling favouritism given to certain characters and complete sidelining of most others.

In case you're referring to the ME2 cast, you're right. That's something that bothers me as well. My fav character IS Ashley, but I also like a lot of the guys of the ME2 cast. I'd like to have them around in ME3, or at least have a chance to recruit them for a large portion of the game.

If they're there they should have some influence on the story. If they're just there to fill a roster I'll be disappointed for sure.

Yeah, I like the squad so far. Although if the leaked `spoilers` are true, then I will be disappointed with a few things at least.

Why do people say "Nobody from the ME2 cast" when there ARE squadmates from the ME2 team returning? There is in fact also a character from ME2 that was not in ME1 who was not a squadmate before, but now is. Won't say who, though. Spoilers, you know.

No, if certain spoilers are in the final product.

I don't find feeling like I've been punished for choosing to like the "wrong" characters emotionally engaging. More like emotional blackmail.
