Never read the FULL spoilers, just parts of it, and of course the parts regarding the VS. I'm sure if you romanced the VS you have a big chance to get them through both (or three? it's kinda unclear) events. Maybe it's easier to convince them or one event won't even happen so at the end the player with a romanced, non-cheated-on VS will see only one event where the VS can get killed.
Any others will have two or three events to get rid of that VS. So it's kinda fanservice - those who love the VS will be able to keep him or her alive, those who hate the VS have enough oportunities to kill them.

In case that's true I have no problem with that.

Nah, the VS is not as screwed as you think. And yeah I remember that leak where Ash/Kai were screwed, but that was the outdated version;). I think that the new version would make you happier. There aren't those two events anymore, there are less I think.

Whatever. Virmire 2.0 can be avoided as far as I know. It WILL happen if Shepard fails at a certain point in the game series (have some details here, but they're shady at best). So that's ONE of the situation where the VS can get killed.
The other one is said betrayal scene which always will happen I guess. I bet you can solve it only if you did following prerequesites:

- VS is still current non-cheated LI (cheating also includes LI KIA in SM).
- You have enough paragon / renegade points to convince the VS
- A combination of both
- Some event happening in ME3 I don't know yet which is another prereq to convince the VS later. Like Wrex' family armor in ME.

Yeah I tried to change the color of the spoilers but I couldn't, sorry for that.
But what I meant is that in the new draft it seems that there is no longer that Virmire 2.0 even if Shepard fails at that point.
And about that betrayal there are more than one way of solving it without killing them (one does not include P/R points I think).

That's bad. Actually, I liked that Virmire 2.0 situation - at least as one option.
Maybe it'll be back in ME3 and we don't know yet. Wouldn't consider it as dead yet.

About betrayal - as I said, several options will kick in. I hope the romance will be one of the options.

The way EDI avoided the Alliance while Shepard was in custody was exactly how I imagined how it'd be. She pretended to be a VI that only responded to Joker.

Considering that she's the only AI in the galaxy besides the Reapers that can use the IFF correctly, is designed to block Reaper hacking attempts and controls the whole ship, that would be very counterproductive.

By the way - am I reading this right? Ashley catched a bullet for another guy? So it's more kind of an accident?

Uh...yeah no. Shep would've gotten blown to bits by the CS and the Normandy would've been swarming with Collectors so no...Shep wouldn't have won the war without her easily.

You can probably do the later though. Or heck just can probably tell her not to go into the body in the first place.
