Joker/EDI, for as far as there was a relationship, would've worked just fine if the latter simply stayed the ship's AI and the "relationship" itself was largely their mutual trust of each other.

I think that depends on what you define as a happy ending. Plenty of ways that can end.

I'm hoping the story has evolved a bit since the draft the leaks come from, but I'm still pretty happy. I think about the worst thing is Cerberus becoming a black and white enemy due to indoctrination. And sorry, for those of you who refuse to believe TIM will not be under the effect of indoctrination, it's looking more and more likely, at least to a degree like with Saren. I'm not going to post links, but there is mention of it in the leaked script.

The plot doesn't abuse her that much compared to what it does to some of the other characters. Romance and character development wise, you'll get what you wish for, but whether its enough, I don't know...

That's what I hope too ... but for Ashley (or Kaidan) in my case.
And if the stuff from the old script isn't changed till release, the VS will be the punching bag for half of the fandom ...

If all you care about is Liara, you'll be overjoyed. What they do to her previous story arc is not quite logical, though, but it isn't as weird as what they did from ME1 to ME2. It does hurt her and the story's integrity.
