Nobody; Fail Shepard gets two less people in his team.
Its got to affect their recruitment missions at least.

probably no one. in ME1, if you didn't recruit Wrex or Garrus, their spots just stayed empty.
Could be, but they changed that in ME2. You could kill Samara for Morinth, so its not inconceivable that they'd prepare for that in ME3.

I think people mainly dont like Team Dextros fans. I actually like Garrus alot. I have nothing against Tali either other than her close minded nature about the geth. She kinda talks too much too.. anyway its the fans that are usually annoying

The vs and liara can't be recruited in me2 to save them for me3, yet garrus and tali can be recruited and can still play the same level of role as the VS and Liara, just makes the omission of Liara and the VS in me2 pointless.
Characters can die in the sm so can't play a large role in me3 is also rendered pointless when Tali and Garrus can and do still play a large role even though they too could die in the SM.
That and the fact that we pretty much knew the VS and Liara were returning in me3 as did Bioware, to then decide out of all the other available squadmates that Tali and Garrus should be the ones to return alongside them rather than any of the me2 specific crew just makes me2 even more of a filler than it already was.
As for who we get if they've died, i think its no one, Bioware said no placeholder characters would be in place for characters who died, however whether or not anyone believes them is up to themselves personally.

so no, I don't think there would be placeholder characters.
especialy since in ME2 - you only needed 8 characters recruited to start suicide mission and yes you could finish it AND live through it with just 8 characters - you can even keep them all alive in the end. how do I know this? Samara and/or Thane are completely optional characters. you have Jack for biotic bubble and she's mandatory. ship upgrades that Samara and Thane bring are for pure convenience, unlike things like armor, or Thanix canon or shields etc. Zaeed and Kasumi are obviously DLC characters. I believe that even if you keep Grunt in his tank, you can still trigger collector vessel mission. (and his upgrade is personal, not ship upgrade) Legion is not necessary for SM either.

Because there is a ME3 where they can back. There won't be a ME4 for the ME2 character to come back.

Thanks Ticktank.
Yeah, fits the picture. Hmm, maybe Jacob got in touch with Kasumi? Who knows ...
Whatever, no more romantic spoilers for me, especially anything dealing with Shepard and Ashley. That's something I definitely don't wanna get spoiled.
Well you seem like a pleasant guy, so I won't sneak in Ashley spoilers here or anywhere else on the board.
In anycase, ME3 is looking decent and I'm quite sure it won't be as pathetic as DA2.
As for why I said the ending is borderline Deux Ex Machina, well...if ME was like Lord of the Rings (incidentally also a trilogy), it'll be like Frodo discovering how to defeat Sauron only at book 3.

Apparently the VS might be convinced by Kai Leng that ur bad. So you MAY have to choose between saving the VS or Liara. This is apparently ONE possibility. The VS is also apparently a spectre for some reason.Ticktank wrote...

Even if BW gave large roles to some of the ME2 characters, other fans would still be unhappy. There is no way to make everyone happy. Even if they gave happy ending to each character, that will be unrealistic.

That's easy to say when you're a Tali or Garrus fan. Only Garrus and Tali's fans got what they wanted all the time.

That's known as if it was in the "main story spoiler part".
However, first of all that stuff is older than my grandmother (and died of old age) aaaaaaand even more important, BW did some reviews already / the guys do it right now.
I simply hope you can avoid that entire "VS vs Liara" part in case the VS is your current non-cheated LI.

So I am happy. Added bonus was I get to kill KaiAshley Willanko.
Liara not being in Mass Effect 2 is worth it if the spoiler are true.
Her role is larger than Garrus, Tali, VS or Vega.
So yes I am happy.

So did Liara fans. qq more. She got a DLC and a comic series devoted to her. Not to mention she plays a large role in in both ME1 and ME2... and probably ME3.Barquiel wrote...

At least there is an option to reduce her role.
It's however not an option if you want a perfect ending. In that case you need to keep her.
I don't have issues with Liara - as long as she's not stepping in the way of Ashley (surviveability)

Isn't Mass Effect a story? In that sense it's quite logical that one character will have a noticeable importance over others. It's how stories work a majority of the time - even video-games. Like stated before, you can't please everyone.
Sure. But in my eyes it should be Shepard's story and not Liara's
Okay, tbh it should be the story about Shepard-Liara-VS since they have most influence on the story. I just don't like how the third part gets treated from time to time. The good thing is: Liara is not the reason why the VS got "shoved out of sight" in ME2 - therefore I don't have any issues with Liara except I don't enjoy her romance arc that much (started a playthrough with her as LI).
