Probably won't happen, since there won't be any squadmate replacements.

You'll get a different character for that specific mission at best.

Makes perfect sense, but unfortunately, nothing in the leaks is suggesting that they'd be replaced by other characters *as fulltime squadmates*. I see this as just another example of BW's pandering towards the 2 loudest fanbases. Is it so freaking hard to have Wrex/Wreave as a squaddie? They share the same VA....

They do however have stand-ins for their related quests. If Tali isn't alive in ME3, you will be speaking to Daro'Xen instead, for the Quarian/Rannoch part of the story.

"Nothing is final until release", says BW. So lets see what happens...

[Edit] Just wanted to add also, it'll be strange if the dextros do get replaced by completely new/familiar characters as squadmates, if they did not survive in ME2.

Because many people who don't like Tali/Garrus or just want VARIETY in subsequent playthroughs (like me) will be encouraged to kill them in ME2. Its a good tactic if BW wants people to keep playing ME2 for a little longer. But they can't make money out of such a plan...

My impossible dream? T&G's replacements will be Shiala and the Turian Shopkeeper.

Replacing them with even more overrated characters? Yeah, no thanks. EDI and the Prothean as new squadmates works just fine.

Wrex probably has better things to do as a clan leader than following Shepard around too.

Gali and Tarrus are way cooler.

Gali is the renagade male quarian geth hating Infaltrator and rooted to Quarian dominance and Doro Xen's son.

Tarrus is the daughter of the Turian Primarch. Who is a shy paragon and excels at Engineering and knows how to handle a shotgun.

Make it happen Bioware?

I hope they don't do replacements for anyone. Well not as permanent squad mates. If they are giving replacements whats the point in doing all the work for suicide mission.

I like this forum's inability to just ignore the characters they don't like.

Like how I'm just ignoring Miranda and Samara and letting them stay in their rooms. Or how to simply skip their dialogues to get to the good parts.

No, they must die. To which I can just say: When the conflict of a certain race or faction is potentially going wrong/not the way you wanted because you killed off a couple of characters simply because you couldn't ignore them or only use them when absolutely necessary; keep the whining to yourself.

I can't complain as a Liara fan. The problem is more that some ME2 squaddies are reduced to roles similar to that of Rana or Shiala in ME1/ME2...and no fan of Tali or Garrus or Liara or the VS would accept the same thing for their favorite character in ME3 (I suppose you remember the "I will boycott Mass Effect 3 if Tali is not permanent" posts). What I mean is that it is very easy to say "Bioware did everything right!" when your favorites are permanent squadmates.

I never got anyone killed. Not even the once I didn't really like (zaeed). Even though I didn't like some characters, there are some interesting parts with them and I don't want to miss anything in ME3.

Yes i agree with you. It´s understandable and would annoy me too. It´s not the fault of the Tali/Garrus fans though. I know you haven´t said that, i´m just a bit annoyed with some posts and the general f*ck Tali/Garrus complains because they don´t get what they want for their character. Which is fine, i will say it again, i like almost every Mass Effect character, (though Tali is my favourite) and i hope they will find a fitting ending for everyone.

Yep.

Samara is a little more important than Kasumi, though. Her being a DLC character and all.

Considering that some expected them to have minor roles, then yeah.

It's not like the ME2 squadmates are completely out of the picture either.

Hell, Legion has probably one of the most important roles in the script, and Thane comes after him.

All the squaddi have a good role. Mordin, Miranda, Thane and Wrex have bigger role and influence that Vega and Garrus. Be happy?
