Hmm, dunno. I won't be surprised if one of both "new squadmate" is the female squadmate I was talking of and the other one being a bonus character.

One is right.^_^

I wouldn't consider EDI as "new squadmate" especially since it's known she won't be restricted to the Normandy in ME3. Isn't it? If no, sorry for the Spoiler ... I heard it numerous times, even outside BSN.

Ahh, I see. So we have the Protheon and who else?

It's the Prothean (who is currently unnamed as Shepard never refers to him by his name) and EDI, who stole a robot Cerberus built and is using it to communicate better with the crew and assist Shepard in battle. Complete with hair, lips and everything. I think TIM modeled it after his old dead girlfriend, which totally isn't creepy at all.

Pretty much.

It's named Eva (just like that dead chick) and has all the female parts.

Edit: There are even some moments when people on the ship and squadmates are commenting on her body.

My guess: One of them is Joker. Posted Image

Must say it's a bit creepy to create an android looking like a beloved person. No, wait - it's not just a bit creepy. Hope EDI stays EDI and doesn't turn into EVA.

Can the bot end up like in Terminator, showing the mechanical parts or does it have a self-repair protocol? Would be cool to see ME-Terminator:D.

Oh, she's the way she is.

She took over the body completely and is connected to it via the Normandy's communication systems.

If I'm not mistaken, the script leak is only the cinematic cutscenes, correct? It doesn't cover the actual conversations or in-game dialogue? If that's the case, then the majority of the game's story hasn't been revealed.

The main thing I want to know about is who's permanent, and if no one is, who will be around the longest. Like a lot of people, there are characters I love from the first two games, and a few I can't stand.

I'm confused, tho. The Prothean seems like a big part of the story. But isn't it also a DLC?

I'll post it here, so everyone can see. WARNING SPOILERS
A friend told me this:

"Jacob gets a girl pregnant and leaves FemShep. Worse, he blames her for it. "Your only love is the Normandy".

Her full name is Brynn Cole. She was a Cerberus scientist who abandoned the organization after The Illusive Man started using torture and murder to control his people. Jacob spent eight months with her after ME2, working on what his ME3 mission seems to focus. and that's when he cheated on FemShep.

It is also implied that he sends FemShep an email then dies offscreen."

They would do that to the black man.

Not keen with what has been said for the VS. Horizon was a big negative issue with them and now sounds like there's a Horizon and Virmire part 2.

Wait...

Another Horizon? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png[/smilie]

Just a situation that would probably make people hate them even more.

@CptData, I'm fearing for both.

I just feel that the VS has had it's share of hostility, why can't other characters have faults or misjudgement? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/unsure.png[/smilie]

Well it wouldn't really make sense to meet up with them again and have everything be cool now would it? They can't forget the bitterness of Horizon, it must be resolved through confrontation and Ashley's not the type to admit she was wrong. Don't know about Kaidan but the point is, there's going to be conflict and conflict is what drives the story and keeps me interested so I'm looking forward to it.

The second thing is that by the looks of things they have taken no notice of what a lot of fans wanted in terms of characterisation and how events would play out, now some may say its their product they can do what they like and this is true, but at times its almost as if they've not just ignored what people have asked for but gone in the completely opposite direction deliberately.

I would say that the problem is the complete opposite. The development team has catered way too much to what the fans wanted and expected. The entire game is wishfulfillment for the largest fan bases. Everyone else gets to eat crap and the game as a whole suffers for it.

A lot of the consequences in ME3 are contrived.

The character cameos are... okay. As others have said they are a mixed bag. I do feel bad for some fans who had their favorite characters treated fairly poorly (mainly Jacob). However I don't think anyone should have expected all of them to be on the crew again. That simply isn't realistic.

I can't decide whether EDI being a squadmate or the Prothean is the worst idea in the game.

What choices would those be? In
any case the Renegade choices blowing up in your face is almost
comical. It's all of them, not just a few of them. Every single one.

Depends on the character and part of the story I guess.
Don't wanna bring up ancient stuff about how certain characters got or get "shoved in our faces" while others got an awfully written cameo - it doesn't help to discuss the stuff in a civilized way.

Fans want a lot. Especially if they have a thing for a certain character they want this character getting more screen time, more favor of the devs, more interesting stuff. Lets say BW would have done what I'd like to see in ME2 (more VS interaction), the VS had to be part of the crew for at least a while including a romance arc. It doesn't work very well with the story and would make the VS acting OOC (the VS is loyal to the Alliance, not to Shepard!)

So I have to accept that all we've got from the VS is that one badly written cameo on Horizon, no DLC (like for Liara), just a mail (if you romanced the VS). It's okay, I'm looking forward for ME3, I hope the VS will have his/her role and the romance arc will be continued.

Just one example.

The character cameos are... okay. As others have said they are a mixed bag. I do feel bad for some fans who had their favorite characters treated fairly poorly (mainly Jacob). However I don't think anyone should have expected all of them to be on the crew again. That simply isn't realistic.

Indeed. I must say, almost all of the ME2 cast is expendable ... don't kill me for saying it!
It's just that: only the VS (pick one) and Liara are destined to make it to ME3.

Only two out of - how many? 14 - 16? - squadmates are set in stone (or shoved in our faces, if you like that term), the rest can die at some point in the game. Only ONE out of said number can't get killed in ME or ME2 and it's unknown (lets ignore the spoilers) if Liara can die in ME3.
And if you watch closely, the story spins around them. It's not just Shepard's story, but more Shepard-Liara-VS-story. These three characters are the main cast. The player can "modify" this main cast by his/her decisions: Shepard - appearance, gender and role (at least partly) and the VS who's either Kaidan or Ashley.

Thinking of this it's almost fair the VS had not much screentime in ME2 compared to ME2 cast.

The rest of the squadmates are more or less expendable. All of them can die at certain point in game. The NVS (Non-Virmire-Survivor) does and Wrex can die on Virmire. The entire ME2 cast can die in the SM, Zaeed can be killed in his LM. You can ignore to recruit certain characters etc etc.

It's most plausible only a few of the ME2 cast will have a bigger role in ME3. My guess is on Miranda, maybe Jacob, Mordin's role is partly known since official preview version and leaked beta.

Bull****s

Garus and Tali were in the team in ME1 and ME2 and they are shoved in my face AGAIN in ME3 while my favorite ones are sidelined !

This is just blatant favoritism.

So no I'm not happy.

Or it was just easier by a game making and story point of view for the ME2 cast to be sidelined.

But that is just a guess much like your post.:?
