Interesting interview with the good Doctors in Eurogamer.

"We listen to our fans all of the time," Muzyka continued. "We listen to them on the forums, their feedback from stories. We're reading it all. If we can get ideas out of it that will make the game better, sure. We're not adverse to taking feedback. That's part of our core values, is humility. Any time we get a good idea from fans... they're our
audience. They keep us in business."

Not sure how much BioWare can change this late in development. Still, good that they may get something positive from the leak.

No spoilers please!

Isn't this the same guy who said before DA2 was released that they were working on making the graphics "super hot"?

Yeeeaaaahhhhhhh, I think I'll take this with a bucket full of salt.

They aren't going to change a thing. The game is probably already finished and they are just waiting on the multiplayer.

Found this story on Eurogamer and read it. Sensational headline not really reflected in article. It is basically largely a plea for people not to read the spoilers.

"It was disappointing for them, yeah. They're moving on. They're making a great game. The script, frankly, has changed a little bit from what was released, too. It's been edited. They're always tuning it. They're always making it better. But yeah, it's tough when you see your work displayed. You realise only a small number of people are probably going to look at those spoilers in advance."

Sounds to me like very little has been changed from the leaked script. I wonder, are any of the BSN ostriches still buying the whole "first draft" line of BS?

I think the important thing to look at is the use of the word "tweak" in the title of the article. They're going to make changes, but it won't be anything major.

The game is already finished? So the devs are just making up those tweets containing their progress, then?

This. EuroGamer pretty much smartly 'reworded' what Muxyka said to get more hits on their website.

By "progress" you mean simply polishing and tweaking?

Bioware are pretty much done with ME3, they're just adding the finishing touches.

Well, one of them anyway (Zeschuk).  Not that Mr. Ray "Emotionally Engaging" Muzyka isn't prone to a bit goofy hype-speak himself.

Which (regardless of whether you're actually corrrect or not) means the exact same thing as "They're not done."

Re-writing at this late date means redoing animations, bringing back voice actors, and generally spending extra money that they didn't budget. Unless some major mistake has been caught, whatever is voiced and finished isn't going to be changed.

I'm not saying that the files we saw are the final product, but I would find it hard to believe that they're planning to change anything already created for ME3 based on this incident.

So if something is "pretty much" done, why would it be waiting on something else to finish if they're not done?

Of course not: these are the same people that believed Legion wouldn't be a squadmate in ME2, that the latter wouldn't get a PS3 release, that ME3 wouldn't have multiplayer or that we wouldn't get you know who as a squaddie. All that after multiple reports of the reverse being true. They're gonna keep sticking their heads in the sand; after all, marketing and PR talk is Word of God to them.

As for the game itself, of course it's not going to be ****ing changed anymore: most of it's been finalised by now, and the majority of the voice acting has already been done. A sub-par product this will certainly be.

Oh well, at least it'll be a victory for BioWare Montreal, which seems to be outdoing their Albertan counterparts. I'm actually genuinely curious what that new game they're working on will turn out to be...

I'm not a dev but a writer.

Once your story is done you can change only a little without harming the entire story. Lets say if a certain part is important for half of the story you can't change it anymore. Or you need to rewrite the rest of the story because of one single scene.

Lets say the Devs can alter romance arcs in ME3 since they're no full integral part of the main story or only connected at few points so you can change major parts of it without harming the entire story, the devs will do it if fans demand it. But can't see much more of this.

That's all I can say for now. Lets hope the Devs do the right thing: making all romance arc equally enjoyable and satisfying. Not more, not less. And if you, the player, can decide your LI will make it to the end or not, then I'm even more pleased.
