Mostly, but the artists have to draw up the promotional image, and the description for the codex has to be written (I think one of the writers will get a batch to do and just belt them all out). And then somebody has to bundle it all up into a mod that everyone can install.

Until somebody argues otherwise, though, I think I still believe that these were items created and packaged before the game was released (they would have been promotional items, like pre-order bonuses for specific retailers, that never got used for whatever reason). The only sticking point with that is they probably would have been included with the game (unlockables just need an account flag; they're not mods). Even if they weren't, I still say they were created a long time ago for some reason other than rewarding loyal DLC customers (or maybe it was for that reason, but it was done way back when the designers Jessica says are thanking us were still paying attention to the game).

My only complaint is that they can't integrate these things into the game better than the chest of "I hope you don't enjoy finding loot in games like this, because all the best items you'll ever find are right here, take a look!" But whatever; they're free items. And I think they have more in storage that they still have yet to release. I WANT IT NOW!


Hey, Fernando: I'll happily repurchase Item Pack #1 to get those high-resolution textures for it. Help us out, here!

I shouldn't think so. Go to your Registered Game Content page here on the social network and have a look at what's been enabled. I only have the PC version of DA2 and the DLCs but the PS3 and the Xbox versions of the two items (as well as other things) are unlocked. While I can't say for certain, I'd presume that because you are elible on one plactform, they should unlock for all platforms. Basically anything I paid for is for the PC only. Free stuff is for all three platforms.

I do indeed have all the permissions enabled for both (well all three including xBox 360) PC and PS3 versions the new items simply aren't showing up in the uncrackables section when I boot up the PS3 version of the game.  I'm most interested in it because my PS3 playthroughs are earlier in the game so they're where the items would be most actual use (unless/until I start a new playthrough).  Maybe I will have to go and prod EA support... man I wish bioware still did their own tech support    or at least that EA localized their support to the language of the region the support ticket came from ah well.

On the PS3 at least, the items don't actually appear in the 'Unlockables' section on the main menu (neither did the Deep Green), but they are in the chests in game. Just thought I'd check whether you were logging into your game or just checking the menu. I made this mistake with the last item.

Also thanks again bioware for the new 'threads' it'll make my replays a bit fresher

You don't know me. This post was unnecessary. I was posting an opinion. I was attempting to do it in a manner that suggests that I don't simpy say "how high?" when BioWare says "jump" and was well within my rights to find these 'thank you gifts' patronizing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you think that adding two low-level items to the pile and inferring that they are some kind of reward is great, good for you, I'm not going to judge you for it but I can still consider them fairly usless- it is my right as the consumer.

I wouldnt worry about them stopping DLC. They have already said that they are making post game DLC. If anything this post makes me think that they are done with DLC taking part in the game and moving on to what happened after the end of DA2! I hope so! Eitherway cant wait for the next DLC.

According to my registered game content page I am supposed to have access to Pendant of the Morning Frost & The High Lords' Belt for 360.

Instructions say to check the Unlockables screen of the game.

When I look there the items don't show up.

At least the items are where they are supposed to be in game.

Oh how I love instructions that fail to be accurate.

It's wonderful how you reach out to your player base! I really liked the items that came with completing the game. (I did think you added 2 more quests at first, which would still be awesome for a future game, but the extra gold came in handy for the DLC bits!) And I really appreciated that your LI in the game could come join your character in the mansion after the end. You rocked the storyline and voice acting, all these bits are like icing on the cake. I'm looking forward to the next DLC (and more about what happened to Anders. Isabella, Merrill, and Fenris 6 months later). This is the first game that has a story that is as good as that of a novel. I have to give you a lot of credit for it! Best of luck in the future!

hmmm have all the achievements needed to get the items and no of it is showing up on this site or in my game guess I have to bug EA support again just like when I first got the game and didn't get any of my unlockables b4 =/

In closer plans, Laidlaw said that we'll see more of Varric in upcoming DLC for Dragon Age 2, as well as Leliana and Flemeth. Morrigan will be back as well, and BioWare says that the Legacy DLC was received well, so that will be the model for updates in the future.

At first I thought the more Varric was just about if you take him in to Legacy.... But then it referenced Legacy!?
This makes me excited about the next story DLC!!
