Hey guys!

I’m super excited to tell you that we’re giving away SWTOR beta codes so if you haven’t gotten an invite, now is your chance. All you have to do is “Like” us on Facebook and get details there. There’s 3.2 million people registered on the BSN and we have 400K codes so I suggest you click that Like button ASAP!
I should go (because I want a beta code).

It doesn't actually. You only need it to download it if you bought it from Origin digital store.

It doesn't require Origin. Here's proof : http://torwars.com/2...s-role-w-swtor/

You are not required to use the Origin desktop client to download, patch or play the game client for Star Wars: The Old Republic- Stephein Reid.

If people don't have facebook or are to lazy, they can also head to Massively to get a code.

Maybe if it wasn't a mmo or if it was for 360/PS3. Then I would have been all over that like button.

I assume that doesnt include the codes for Battlefield 3 owners? I bought the game purely for the ME3 demo.

What if you hit the like button months ago? Is this only for new likes?

Nah. The specs are pretty low. If you're worried, post them and I'll tell you if you're good to go

Also, why does everything have to go through Facebook ? ( not anti-social, but why not do it directly from this site). I've already been in the beta and happy to be reinvited again. It was fun!

something to keep in mind:
If you applied for the SWTOR beta before November 11 2011, you will already be invited for the upcoming stress-test beta - according to one of SWTOR's latest mails you can actually jeopardize your chance for beta-access by getting multiple keys for it.

Quote from the e-mail:
"As part of this test, we will be partnering with games industry sites to distribute additional beta codes as necessary. This will help ensure we meet our population goals, so we can effectively stress test our servers in preparation for launch. Please do not acquire and redeem one of these codes as it could jeopardize your ability to participate in this test."

Good luck for everyone who wants in!

Sure.

Dell Inspiron 1545
Pentium Dual-Core T4300 @ 2.10 GHz 2.10 GHz
3.00 GB DDR2 (I think it's 2, might be 3)
64-bit operating system

Built-in chipset, of course. That's where my thoughts rest on the pessimistic side of things. It's not a gaming rig at all, it just happens to be 'only' two years old.

How about for those who dont use, and never will use, Failbook?

I like to think of myself as Bioware's customer, not a product Facebook can sell to its customers

I treat Facebook like the Illusive man. We have a mutual goal. They want my presence, and its easy to keep tabs of my large family, who are spread across the continental US, on it. I make no pretense that I haven't made a deal with the devil to do so.

And one day it will be one stab in the back too many.
