When we started our Beta Testing Weekends, we told you that each
weekend would include more testers than the last. We’re excited to
announce that later this month we will be conducting our largest Beta
Testing Weekend yet, specifically designed to help us stress test our
servers in preparation for the launch of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
How can you take part in this coming Beta Test Weekend? Well, for starters we are happy to announce that anyone
who has signed up for our Game Testing Program prior to today, November
11th, will get invited! Invites will be sent in the coming weeks.
For people who haven’t signed up for our Game Testing Program, you
can also get into the Beta Stress Test Weekend through a series of
promotions. Be sure to check out the following websites for your chance
to grab a Beta Test Weekend Code:
For North America:
For United Kingdom:
For Nordic Regions (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden):
For Germany:
For France:
Keep your eyes on these sites for your chance to get a Beta Test
Weekend Code, as well as how to redeem the code and get into the Beta
Test Weekend. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to get the latest news about
Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
it's a STRESS TEST meaning DON'T expect utter perfection or a demo. It's to stress the servers as much as possible. I've seen this with games I worked on in the past and other games I've been part of. So many people seem to not understand what a Beta or a Stress test is. Agreement when you get going also puts you under a NDA...which we can tell how well people do with that these days.
I blame the millenials

I treat Facebook like the Illusive man. We have a mutual goal. They want my presence, and its easy to keep tabs of my large family, who are spread across the continental US, on it. I make no pretense that I haven't made a deal with the devil to do so.
And one day it will be one stab in the back too many.
Man, how ever did families keep in contact before Facebook! It must have been impossible!

Nah. The specs are pretty low. If you're worried, post them and I'll tell you if you're good to go
Sure.
Dell Inspiron 1545
Pentium Dual-Core T4300 @ 2.10 GHz 2.10 GHz
3.00 GB DDR2 (I think it's 2, might be 3)
64-bit operating system
Built-in chipset, of course. That's where my thoughts rest on the pessimistic side of things. It's not a gaming rig at all, it just happens to be 'only' two years old.
You will probably be able to run it, but on the lowest settings. The integrated graphics are really bad. Other than that, you're good
Yep, they certainly are very bad indeed.
Thanks, though!

Don't use that site. Use the game-O-Meter on www.yougamers.com instead. That's also not 100% correct but at least it isn't as inaccurate as SRL.Gabey5 wrote...

and when can we download the client? what size does it have? i've a net with 230kbyte/s down speed, if it is 20-27gb, then when i finished downloading it, the beta will be over
The download usually becomes available three or four days before the beta itself opens so you'll likely be able to get it finished before testing opens. The client last build was 20 GB I believe. There is a new build coming out today but I haven't had a chance to check on the size yet.

I am curious as to why my address and phone number are "required information" if I'm not being shipped any physical product, and its being distributed digitally.
You could always put a fake phone and address. Why didnt I think of that before I signed up? Dagnabit
in other news, I got a beta invite in my BSN message box this morning, no need to like evil Facebook

Also, supposedly the Gears of War 3 beta was supposed to be a stress test and it wasn't that bad, is this going to be bigger do you think?
