it's a STRESS TEST meaning DON'T expect utter perfection or a demo. It's to stress the servers as much as possible. I've seen this with games I worked on in the past and other games I've been part of. So many people seem to not understand what a Beta or a Stress test is. Agreement when you get going also puts you under a NDA...which we can tell how well people do with that these days.

I received a code in my PM without even doing anything (probably because I already "liked" Mass Effect). I assume this is for the upcoming stress test weekend, right? I believe they said on the SWTOR forums that if you were already invited for the test, and that's pretty much everyone with an account there, you shouldn't enter a beta code because it would be a waste of promo codes and you could lose beta access.

Don't use that site. Use the game-O-Meter on www.yougamers.com instead. That's also not 100% correct but at least it isn't as inaccurate as SRL.

So i got a beta key but my PC is a piece of crap and won't be able to play it so the first person to PM me and ask for it gets it.

and when can we download the client? what size does it have? i've a net with 230kbyte/s down speed, if it is 20-27gb, then when i finished downloading it, the beta will be over

PS just my luck if I actually wanted it I wouldnt get one

The download usually becomes available three or four days before the beta itself opens so you'll likely be able to get it finished before testing opens. The client last build was 20 GB I believe. There is a new build coming out today but I haven't had a chance to check on the size yet.

So, as asked earlier, should one get a code, what would one then do?

one would assume go to swtor.com and register " if they have not" and see if there is a place in the account settings to redeem a key then wait for a confirmation email....

Im not much help, I got my invite via email before that had hotlinks to confirm and such never had to use a key.

Also, supposedly the Gears of War 3 beta was supposed to be a stress test and it wasn't that bad, is this going to be bigger do you think?
