This guy easily had the best VO performance. Him not coming back would be detrimental to my enjoyment of the Mass Effect 3 experience as well as that of many other fans I assume.

I will not be cancelling my pre-order until I know for sure, but this isn't looking too good. If BioWare dropped Beattie simply because he asked for more money, then that is bulls*** on BioWare's part. You didn't have the extra money to bring back the man who made Mordin so well-loved by fans, but you did have enough dev money to put in a MP component to ME3? REALLY? If Beattie is not brought back, I will boycott ME3 and I ask all Mordin fans to do the same.

Why couldn't they say "we intend to try"?

Voice acting is usually the last thing that goes into the game, so there's plenty of time left.
They hired Keith David only a few months before ME2's release as well.

How many hours of actual voice would we expect to see a major NPC have in a game like ME3? Once their script is actually done and set, wouldn't most of them be able to do their voice acting in under a week?

That's quite blunt, but also accurate. The thing is, people can pretend that withholding their money for a mainstream product will make a difference, but in reality the only thing they are affecting is themselves. The only outcome of someone not purchasing ME3 will be: that person doesn't get to own ME3. You will not make a dent on EA's sales figures. The only possible way you could make a dent is to have an organized movement convincing people not to buy ME3, and the only way to get one of those is to capitalize on a large disgruntled fanbase. There is no such large disgruntled fanbase, and no a few loud voices on the Bioware Forums don't count; in general, the Mass Effect fanbase is expanding and pretty much every single fan of the series is looking foward to the third installment.
And this is off topic, but StephanieBengal, you wouldn't happen to be a Cincy Bengals fan would you? I myself am from Cincinnati and couldn't be happier with our first Palmerless season. Who dey!
That's not entirely accurate. Loss of sales can cause an impact on EA but you need a large number of fans to go along with it.....like the way the PC gamers have recently rejected EA's Origin spyware program that led to mass outrage in germany and allowed opened copies with used activation keys of Battlefield 3 to be returned. The game's Amazon ratings have plummeted and overall I can guarantee you that EA HAS suffered losses.
Now will changing Mordin's voice actor have that kind of effect? Not really....a few may not buy but the majority will still purchase. But if BioWare requires PC gamers to install and run Origin(spyware) in order to play Mass Effect 3 the way EA did with Bttlefield 3 in combination with the ruining of Mordin's charactter then you may just see a substantial enough fan lashback that EA's profits will hurt.

It's an excuse for being able to say "That's it, I'm cancelling my preorder" as soon as something happens that they don't like.Someone With Mass wrote...

I've seen people cancel their pre-orders for less.
Which makes me wonder why they even pre-ordered in the first place.
