I know this is not the reassurance you are asking for, but speculating and getting worked up when there's no information to go on isn't the best course of action. If I know more about this getting addressed, I'll point you guys in the right direction. Sorry we can't offer more right now.

This is something that should have some kind of statement.  Even a "We're undecided" or "Negotiations are ongoing" is better than rampant speculation.

Hell, I'd think even a "We can't comment on developments in that area" would be better than the silence we're getting, which your post, almost, but doesn't quite reach.

OK, if you want the marketing speak, I can give it to you:

The cast list for Mass Effect 3 is not being revealed at this time, nor can I offer a concrete date as to when you can expect that to happen.

Image IPB Sorry to be snarky, but a vague statement in response to speculation about someone else's vague statement won't make anyone feel better.

"Community Queen" Ms. Merizan, please, go to bed if you're tired, lol.

(The bizarre effects of having people on your twitter -- you sometimes know their current mental state.)

In any case, I've actually hypothesized for a long while now (or what feels like it, anyway) that BioWare simply can't/won't release an official cast list right now and that's where things are going to lie for a while. It is what it is; we must accept that. :)

I quite agree, and I was hoping you would post what you did, as you no doubt saw in my private message to you earlier.

Thanks for the words of wisdom DiebytheSword

Alright guys, if the Community is urging me to go to bed, obviously I'm getting too snippy and should take JeffZero's advice ;)

I know this is super frustrating, and there are some really cool things I can't wait for you guys to see, but a release calendar exists for a reason and I hope that even though it is annoying, we can all be patient.

Thanks for putting up with cranky me tonight! I'll give out a ton of Xbox Normandy avatars (sorry again PC/PSN users) on our Mass Effect Twitter channel on Monday (at 11am MST) to make up for it.

Lol, no problem at all! I understand that as much as BioWare genuinely pours their hearts into the worlds and characters they create, their game preview dates are ultimately going to be run under a rigid business model just like any other company will, and for good reason. :)

Normandy avatars, zomg, excellent. So glad I bought an Xbox 360 now. Oh, and there's that whole Mass Effect thing too.

I think I'd rather they just have some new salarian character for the Sur'kesh stuff in ME3 than have Mordin's voice actor replaced personally.

I may have to go back through my ME2 playthroughs and get Mordin killed just so I don't have to experience any imposter Mordin dialogue.

I'll... join you, at least Mordin will have a good and honourable death... unlike what Bioware has done to him <_<  **** Bioware

RIP Mordin Solus. January 26, 2010-November 2011.:crying:

I'm sorry, but Woo's wording cannot be misinterpreted. When someone says "X's original Y", the "original Y" has been replaced per definition.

I'm just curious why. Unless Beattie was asking for a million dollars for a non-playable role, I can't understand why BioWare would ditch him - especially after the glowing response he got after ME2.

He could explain himself if he did then. If he wants to of course.

If Beattie were still in, they would simply say "Oh yeah, Beattie's in!" just like they've done for all the old voice actors of ME2 characters. And benefit from the fans being happy about it.

Because they don't do this, it can mean only one thing, they done gone an' messed up.

My only question is why is this even going on? Why the sudden change in VAs? You normally don't do that unless the VA in question is either unavailable or can't be made available for recording. Doesn't really add up.

I'll be disappointed if Beattie doesn't return as Mordin, but I'll still get the game. Meer did an alright imitation, so at least we'll have that if Beattie really doesn't come back. Sure, the original voice is better, but Meer did okay.

I know that secrecy about the VA list is important, but a general "we have not finished the voice work/contacted all the actors/actresses, yet" would help.

On a side note, "We may have ruined a fan favorite character, but have some free Xbox Normandy avatars!"

BSN: "Bring back Beattie you stu- WOOHOO, FREE STUFF!" <_<

The avatars are because I was cranky.

Since I've given the statement I was asked to give about this, and we aren't going to be discussing the VA list, I don't think this thread is serving any purpose other than rehashing what has already been stated. Locked. Message recieved and we'll provide more details when we are able to.
