Recasting Mordin would be an awful choice, and they'd need to present really good reasons for doing so. I don't want another not-Anders in my team, and Mordin would be even worse than that.

Not happy about the idea of a recast Mordin, easily one of my favorites in the series, let alone ME2. *Sniff* Still, not sure that voice actor has been replaced, insufficient evidence in light of ME2's Anderson lines.

As annoying as this may be, Mark Meer does a pretty accurate Mordin. I didn't even notice it was him when I first watched the demos. So with his reduced role, I'm not too upset about it.

Quite a different tone and delivery that's just not classic Mordin.

Yeah, I agree. Meer's a wonderful voice actor and his Mordin is better than mine for sure, but Baettie's the man for the role.

Really freakin' hope things work out.

I think the odds of us getting a straight answer outta BioWare on this one are fairly slim though. There are a lot of rules and regs about these things. Until they decide it's time to approach Beattie and iron out a deal, they won't tell us anything.

That's my guess, anyway.

Seriously though Beattie needs to come back. If Mordin was just a minor character it'd be acceptable, but I'd say Mordin is a fairly major character. (I mean FFS you guys had him in  freaking Ads for ME2 come on...) Look unless Beattie lives in Antartica and is too busy dubing for penguins I don't want to hear any excuses. To me it implies  ME3 has a very poor budget (something not cool considering it's published by EA) or the VA director has completely lost their mind.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, hates when VAs don't reprise their role. A lot more then just us crazy forum folks are going to be pretty peeved. When people actually get their hands on the game and find out what happens expect a lot of less-then-happy customers.

But hey why should that matter once they buy the game? It's not like you want customers to be happy or anything and buy DLC after release.

^ I believe there's a new VA director for ME3. I seem to remember reading the old one moved on, but I could be mistaken.

I would urge everyone with twitter accounts to inquire with @CabLivingstone, ME3's VA director, about what's going on here. I know I'll be busy the next few days. This is one area of a project where, yeah, I [i]will[/] nerd-rage if things aren't as they should be. >_>;

Oh my, that is certainly a tawdry account of the affairs at Bioware Headquarters.  I can see it now, Beattie coming in, his titantron showing a dead blue sun merc.  "Advantage of being Salarian, never see me coming."  Pyro goes off, and he marches in as Scientist Salarian plays in the backdrop.  The crowd already calling for his patented powerbomb, "STG, STG, STG!"
