Looks legit to me. Thanks for the link, I'll get on that tomorrow. (Or someone else can get it started now -- I mean, whatever!)

I'll be going to sleep shortly, but please check Mordin's fan thread in the future as well. Hopefully within a few days time we can really get the ball rolling. Rolling... somewhere. Not entirely sure where yet.

I do recommend tweeting BioWare about the matter to anyone willing to make a twitter account. I don't blame you for not doing so though.

He clearly wants to do it again, so what's the problem here? Money? Shouldn't Bioware have enough of that by now? I mean they blew huge amounts on TOR, they should more than enough to bring back Beattie for a couple of lines. Unless he's demanding something outrageous like 1 million per line. :P

There's probably a lot of different reasons. Most of them are probably silly. Unless it's money. That's the one thing, that no matter how good the actor/actress, the moment they demand a lot more money (than their co stars), I lose all respect for them.

Like that Chick from Three's company or the mom from Fresh Prince.

I seriously doubt that's the case here, which is why we should start a fan thing going to get him voicing Mordin again.

So wait, you would never try to get more money based on work you do? How can you lose respect for someone who is trying to get paid?

Sincerely I'm not trying to start anything, because I understand your what you meant, but I'll never knock anyone for trying to get more money, even if its unjust. Just saying.

I digress, for whatever reason it's too bad he won't be voicing him.

That's a decent point, I suppose. It's not really the money thing anyways, it's that they quit because they couldn't get their way. (And they didn't go on to new jobs. They just stopped working and made the show less awesome)

Back to the main point. Do we need to organize a petition?

Thanks for the update Jeff.

It's got to be money, surely, what with the way he's inciting fans with words like "lost sales" and "player choice". Well, if so, that's his prerogative.

As much as I liked Michael Beattie's voice work in ME2, this is not good, not good at all.

Might be a money issue, maybe he is demanding too much.

As much as i dont want to rant, i wanna bring out a point. I have this friend who does very important, stressful and busy work as a nurse, her contributions to society save lifes and make the patients feel better. Yet the gratification for her important job does not reflect in her paycheck, which is still well below average, despite what politicians have promised for years and years in case of improvements. Despite this i have never heard her complain about her pay or go to strike because of it. Never.

Now someone who works in entertainment industry, like say a voice actor, probably makes more money in couple of sessions  than she will in many months. And do their jobs really matter like hers, do they directly save lives with these jobs or make sick people feel better? I don't think so... Just something to think about, before you go asking for way more than your entitled to.

If it's not about money, then my sincerest apologies to Michael. But just wanted to bring out this general point to all of you.

No need to start petitions. It's BioWare's policy to ignore petitions.

It would be a real shame to not have Mordin's original voice actor back. Sometimes agreements can't be reached, I understand, but I hope both parties are doing everything they can to make sure Mordin is done justice in ME3. I think Michael, Bioware, and certainly all of the players would truly regret not having him provide the voice work for Mordin, so if it's about money, then both parties should be a bit more flexible. After all, there is only one ME3 guys.

How the hell can they replace Beattie? He was one of the top VAs in ME2 and he was enthusiastic to reprise his role in ME3! This is madness!

But they've been publicly asking for feedback recently. What's a petition if not mass feedback.

However I am concerned that with all this talk of petitioning etc. Bioware might turn against him. He might make them not want to work with him at all.

Very odd. I would speculate that there has to be more to it than BioWare going off Beattie though, not because they can do no wrong or anything but because it makes no sense. Why write him into such a large cameo if they weren't a fan of working with him? They must have known bringing Mordin back without him would cause some controversy and it would have easily been solved by using a new Salarian character (Kirrahe could be there if you saved him as a treat).

So yeah, whatever happened think of the fans of the game first and get him in there BioWare! He can't be asking for that much money surely, and this -is- something the media and fans of the games will pick up on because he was one of the most popular ME2 characters.

I'll sign a petition if it's put up, but I do fear there might be more to this than it seems, and as such it could be an issue someone(s) at BioWare aren't willing to budge on.

I agree that there's probably more to the story. Maybe he's not that great to work with. But at this point... Mordin's voice really is important to the character. You probably could replace the voice of plenty of characters, but it will be rather apparent in Mordin's case. I'm not sure what could have happened, beyond asking a kings ransome, that would have made bioware completely lock him out.

At the very least we can try to get an explanation.

Man, I have to go into work in like half an hour so I don't have the time to draft a petition right now. When I get back it shall be done! (Or, again, if anyone else wants to do it... whatever works!)

It's not feedback, it's a list of signatures of which some may be duplicates. This thread is probably enough feedback.

Petiion threads get closed anyway so it's probably safest not to discuss it.

It's a little weird that they haven't hired him of all people. Money shouldn't be a problem.

I don't understand, did Beattie break bad with someone at Bioware? I just don't see why they'd recast him. Something simply doesn't add up...I'm befuddled.

I thought the leaked beta demo it was him, because the prior demo a few months back I could certainly tell it wasn't him.

He's a very minor character in the game, and I'm sure he wouldn't do it for free.

It is when he's such a very small character in 3.

And? They got everyone all the way down to Avina back for ME2. BioWare has proven in the past that they're among the very best in the industry about this sort of thing.

Really, I'm surprised that they don't put some kind of option clause in everyone's contract. It's not like they didn't know there was going to be a sequel.

Throwing in my support for the movement. Unfortunately I don't have a Twitter so I can't make noise via that platform. :)
