Have you even read the story leaks, dude? Mordin is NOT a minor character. Not even close.

Nope just got them spoiled for me.


And if that one is true, I don't see how he can be major in the long run.

Wouldn't a minor role be all the more reason to get him back? A day of recording and you're done. We've had plenty of returning VAs that had small roles and were not recast.

While this is not dreadfull news ,It's certainly a downer.

TBH i had no idea it was Meer(who I adore) doing the voice in the demo.
I noticed that it was slightly different, but I just put it down to the sound engineers not raising the pitch of Mordin's voice yet, which they did to Michael Beattie's voice in ME 2, it's very subtle change though.

Can anyone fill me in on the problem that's stopping him from working on ME 3? Does he have some problem with the script.
I think more people should e-mail him more beg and plead with the guy. He was a fantastic voice actor, it's such a shame.

As much as i dont want to rant, i wanna bring out a point. I have this friend who does very important, stressful and busy work as a nurse, her contributions to society save lifes and make the patients feel better. Yet the gratification for her important job does not reflect in her paycheck, which is still well below average, despite what politicians have promised for years and years in case of improvements. Despite this i have never heard her complain about her pay or go to strike because of it. Never.

Now someone who works in entertainment industry, like say a voice actor, probably makes more money in couple of sessions  than she will in many months. And do their jobs really matter like hers, do they directly save lives with these jobs or make sick people feel better? I don't think so... Just something to think about, before you go asking for way more than your entitled to.

If it's not about money, then my sincerest apologies to Michael. But just wanted to bring out this general point to all of you.

This is a good point,If the issue is he needs more cash. I have a hunch that its not about money though, well I hope. Ive been following Beattie's career for a while and he doesn't seem Jerkish.....But who knows these days.

He WANTS to come back, it's just that he hasn't been contacted for it by BioWare. Yet.

We had this same problem before ME2 with Keith David. Only a few months before release, he had not been contacted by BioWare to reprise the role of Anderson. Of course, that turned out alright.

Hmm thanks for the update Arcian....It's still worrying though. I hope this sorts it self out. I'd like someone at BIOWARE to atleast say they are paying attention to this, although I know its a sensitive issue for them to talk about , but an acknowledgement would be nice.

In fact, it might be the only way it will happen at this point."

Note that Beattie did underline the word "only", not me. Either Beattie is a little paranoid (quite possible) or there's more to it than BW simply not having contacted him yet.

Yeah that confused me aswell. Like he was extremly vaugue on what the problem was, like as if he knew other people would be reading the e-mail......Could be a money issue......Im hoping against hope its not. Strange though you'd think EA would have deep pockets?

Well, to have it confirmed truly sucks. I hope that Beattie is mistaken and it's like Keith David in ME2 and they hire him at the last minute. I will never get used to an impostor Mordin. However, I'm not going to lie; there's no way in hell I'm boycotting ME3. And meaning no offense to the esteemed Mr. Zero here, petitions are worse than useless and we all know how Bioware feels about fan petitions... honestly, I'd feel the same way if I were them.

I think this one is out of our hands (not that it was ever in them, precisely).

Michael Beattie was awesome playing mordin! I don't understand why he wouldn't of got called back yet. 


I do have a feeling there is some information were missing here. 

Like when they changed Anders Voice Actor to Adam Howden from Greg Ellis because Greg only wanted to play a smaller role.


We also weren't told anything until 7 months ago behind the reasoning of that change...

I hope Michael Beattie reprises his role! I will be terribly disappointed if it didn't.

I guess Ellis had to choose between Anders and Cullen.

No, Ellis was going off to film the new PotC movie and didn't have the time to voice Anders. He had enough time to do a lesser role, though, such as Cullen.
